The #GCI measures #corruption and other white collar crimes (#moneylaundering, #fraud, #terroristfinancing) through 42 variables in 196 countries and territories. 🥇 Notably, #Finland has taken the top spot in the rankings, surpassing #Norway to secure the 1st position. In the regional context, #Europe retains its distinction with the lowest risk score, while #Oceania, #NorthAmerica, #SouthAmerica, and #Asia all witness a slight decrease in their respective risk scores. Notably, trends underscore the growing disparity in #corruption and #whitecollarcrime risks between low-risk countries and those with higher vulnerabilities, especially when comparing the top 20 and bottom 20 rankings 🌍 Assessing not only #corruption but also its connected crimes, the #GCI exposes the specific vulnerabilities of each country. For example, countries like the #UnitedArabEmirates #Luxembourg and #HongKong perform well in the corruption sub-index, but their ranks are brought down by higher risk scores for white-collar crimes. 📈 The #UnitedStates has made an impressive leap, gaining 8 ranks since the previous year, reclaiming its 2018 ranking.
