In this month’s 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, we want to highlight the versatility of Chondro-Gide®. 🦋 AMIC® cannot only be done in the knee, the ankle and the hip joint, but also in osteochondral lesions of the talonavicular joint (TN joint), as Sebastian Altenberger nicely shows with this case. 😊 The female patient came in with pain in the region of the TN joint, which was due to a large subtalar coalition of the medial joint surface. Non-surgical treatment did not lead to a sustainable improvement, thus a surgical debridement and resection of the delaminated surrounding cartilage was performed, followed by covering the defect with the Chondro-Gide® membrane, all arthroscopically. The membrane was fixed with commercial fibrin glue. 👨⚕️ Chondral or osteochondral, AMIC® works and Chondro-Gide® proves versatile, also in smaller joints like the TN joint. An interesting study from Bakowski et al., investigating the long-term success of AMMR® using Chondro-Gide® combined with bone marrow aspirate injection in complex and severe meniscal tears. 1st MTP Cartilage Repair using Chondro-Gide by Geistlich Ortho. Here Mr Maneesh BHATIA of Leicester treats a young male following a traumatic sheering injury of his 1st MTP cartilage. Defect was debrided, bone marrow stimulated using 1.6 k-wire, Chondro-Gide cut-to-fit and secured with Tissel glue. Stable reconstruction confirmed after repeated cycling of the joint. Warsztaty prowadził dr hab. Tomasz Piontek, który dzielił się swoją wiedzą i doświadczeniem w zakresie zaawansowanych technik operacyjnych. W szkoleniu wziął udział grecki ortopeda, dr Anastasakis Demosthenes, który na co dzień pracuje w jednym ze szpitali w Atenach.
