When a band as spectacular as Ultra Lights comes around, it’s a true joy to put out records by them. Chunklet is proud to put out the second single by this Atlanta four-piece that haven’t even existed for a year. The band’s debut (“Nostalgia”) sold out in mere days and I don’t suspect this one will even last that long. “Wasted Again” and “Scene of the Crime” are two more mainstays of the band’s live shows which are still numbering in the single digits. With a confidence that harkens back to the gritty realism of Rick Froberg’s work with Obits, Ultra Lights songwriting continues to radiate strength. Staggering around and rustlin’ for a scrap, these two songs show a band perpetual momentum and a promising future. Recorded and mixed by Thomas Martino, mastered by Chunklet’s in-house mastering whiz Drew Crumbaugh and artwork by Leela and John from the band. Edition of 100 on red vinyl. Get in on it before they’re gone.
