Over the past week, Maritime Cook Islands staff, including our Head of Quality Management & Systems, Taimata Allsworth, and our Denmark Fleet Manager, Daria Fedorenko, participated in the IMSSEA Training on Port State Control and Flag State Inspection courses. The course covered resolution A.1070(28), the IMO Instruments Implementation Code (III Code), focusing on the implementation and enforcement of key IMO Conventions and Codes, including SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC 2006, the ISM and ISPS Codes, STCW, and UNCLOS. Maritime Cook Islands (MCI) is the Cook Islands Register for Ships and Yachts that performs the Flag State functions on behalf of the Cook Islands Government. MCI operates directly from the Cook Islands and can provide services and assistance to its clients anywhere in the world through an extensive network of Deputy Registrars and approved surveyors. The Administration provides online services for yacht registration; Survey and Certification, Seafarer training and certification, including a fast and effective endorsement procedure for crew. MCI's state-of-the-art IT platform (Upvise) has been customised to meet the vessel registration and crew certification requirements. What a success! Yesterday's sunny weather brought a fantastic turnout at the Monaco Yacht Show. Our team had the pleasure of engaging with potential and existing clients, exploring new opportunities, and proudly promoting the Maritime Cook Islands brand. We also had the opportunity to explore one of our remarkable superyachts, AMI, with an exclusive tour led by Captain Mike.
