𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗔 🤝 | With an intense schedule of activities, the tour of the Undersecretary of Mining, Suina Chahuan Kim, began in Australia, organized in conjunction with InvestChile. On her first day in Sydney, she attended an extensive meeting at the offices of the consulting firm EY, where she met with over twenty representatives from local companies and mining associations. During the meeting, the undersecretary, together with InvestChile’s Investment Promotion Executive, Christoff Janse van Vuuren, discussed public policies and investment opportunities in our country. Later, she participated in a panel on women in mining and communities, where she shared experiences and best practices promoted by both countries alongside Australian representatives.
It is worth noting that the three-day visit is part of the participation of a Chilean public-private delegation in the International Mining and Resources Conference+Expo, IMARC, led by the undersecretary and supported by the Chilean Ambassador to Australia, Jaime Chomalí.
The undersecretary is expected to be one of the speakers in the sessions “Copper and Lithium: How Chile Is Contributing to the Energy Transition” and in a seminar promoting investment in Chilean mining. She also has meetings scheduled with the Australian Minister for Resources, Madeleine King, and the Assistant Minister for Trade. Additionally, she will be one of the speakers at the Australia-Latin America Business Council dinner and will visit the University of New South Wales before departing for Adelaide. There, she will visit Olympic Dam, one of the world’s most significant copper, gold, uranium, and nickel deposits, owned by BHP, and meet with local authorities.
