At Silicon Valley Latino, we’re always eager to spotlight innovative conversations that shape the future. On March 8, 2024, #CreoEnTi Platinum Corporate Educational Sponsor, Santa Clara University’s Markkula Center for Applied Ethics will host a pivotal event, AI and the Environment: Sustaining the Common Good. While AI holds great potential for advancing environmental solutions, it’s important to acknowledge that AI data centers are significant consumers of energy and water. As companies and organizations look to harness AI for good, we suggest that they prioritize innovations that reduce the carbon footprint and resource demands of the technology itself. Sustainable AI practices will be crucial in ensuring that these powerful tools be used in a way that truly benefits the planet. As part of our commitment to fostering dialogue around impactful innovation, we encourage our community to engage in this important conversation. Follow the SCU post to register for this exciting event that will also be livestreamed if you cannot make it to the campus. #JuntosAdelante #Community #AI #SantaClaraUniversity #SiliconValleyLatino #CreoEnNosotros #environment #AIDataCenter #Datacenter

We are beyond proud to highlight and celebrate our SVL Advisory Board Member, Michael Archuleta, once again, for being named one of the "63 Hispanic and Latino Leaders to Know in 2024" by Becker's Hospital Review! 🌟 It was just in June that he was recognized as “133 CIOs to Know”. Michael’s dedication to healthcare technology, his innovative vision, and his commitment to driving digital transformation continue to inspire and impact the industry. This recognition is another testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence and leadership in healthcare. Congratulations, Michael, on this well-deserved honor! 👏 #JuntosAdelante #LatinosInHealthcare #CreoEnNosotros #CreoEnTi #Leadership #HealthcareTech #LatinoLeaders #SVL #HispanicHeritage365 #HispanicHeritageMonth #TriBU #community #Comunidad
I am deeply honored and humbled to be recognized on Becker’s Hospital Review's prestigious list of "63 Hispanic and Latino Leaders to Know" for 2024. This recognition is a reflection of the dedication, passion, and hard work of my incredible team at Mt. San Rafael. As someone with proud Latin roots, this achievement holds profound meaning it’s not just about the accolade, but about the commitment to drive real, transformative change in healthcare. Our culture teaches us the power of perseverance and hard work "¡Si se puede!" (Yes, we can!). I’ve always believed that action speaks louder than words: Before you talk about it, BE about it! Embrace that #GSD mentality and lead by example. Hispanic Heritage Month reminds us that we are writing our own history our contributions are shaping industries like #HealthIT, and it's time to inspire the next wave of Latino leaders. Though only 8% of tech workers in the U.S. are Hispanic, I believe we can change this! Together, let’s pave the way and lift up the next generation of trailblazers in our community. #CreoEnNosotros! --> https://lnkd.in/gq3c-Eiq <-- #HispanicHeritage #LatinoLeaders #HealthIT #LatinPride #Innovation #Leadership #SiSePuede #InspireNextGen #HispanicsInTech #HealthcareTransformation #DigitalHealth #TechLeaders #CIO #CXO #CISO #PinkSocks #CreoEnTi #HIMSS24 #VIVE2024 #viveevent #CHIME24FallForum #DigitalHealthLeaders Colorado Office of eHealth Innovation Colorado Technology Association Silicon Valley Latino CHIME ViVE HIMSS Cyderes HITEC Cylera RiskAI Colorado Rural Health Center Biometrica Health, Inc. I will be joining a panel on KQED on Oct 8 to discuss 'What's Happened 10 Years After Women Leaned In?' Sheryl Sandberg's book, “Lean In,” sparked a movement for women in leadership. A recent study by Lean In and McKinsey & Company highlights progress but also reveals disparities, especially for Black and Latina women. The panel will delve into barriers to women's advancement and the impact of the Lean In movement. Tune in live at 9am-10am PDT, more info here: https://lnkd.in/gwWyMB6z. Hear the discussion unfold here: https://lnkd.in/gzqan8ey.

Today, we echo the powerful words of our advisory board member, Maria Hernandez, PhD, as she highlights the urgent need for moral courage in the face of adversity. As we navigate the complexities of Project 2025, it’s clear that the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion (#DEI) are under unprecedented threat. Many healthcare systems are hesitating, caught in a "wait and see" mentality, fearing litigation if they pursue health equity. Now is the time to act decisively. We cannot allow decades of progress in health equity to unravel. Healthcare leaders must embody the values stated in their mission statements—providing the best quality of care to all. Let’s stand together (#JuntosAdelante) and get into #GoodTrouble for #HealthEquity, because DEIB is Good Business. Together, we can uphold our commitment to justice and support a future where everyone has access to the care they deserve. Helping health systems prepare for their health equity accreditation | 50/50 Women on Board Semi-Finalist | Board Member (Governance, Innovation Committee Chair) | ESG Advocate | Early Adopter | (Careful) Disruptor
It isn't every day that you learn your life's work will become illegal and subject to targeted prosecution if an election leads to one outcome versus another. #DEI is already under assault and many #healthcare systems that I contact to advance of health equity are staying on the sidelines. There is a measurable "wait and see" stance among many who are just not willing to take a risk that they may face litigation if they work to reduce health inequities. If it isn't clear, let me name the reality we all face: This is the time for moral courage, clarity of purpose, and fundamental resistance to authoritarianism. To do anything less means that health care leaders can not live the mission statements posted in lobbies at hospitals across the nation that all too often speak of providing the "best quality of care to all". This is nothing less than a sham if you allow the work of the past six decades to unravel. This is the moment to get into #goodtrouble and stand for #healthequity because #inclusionworks https://lnkd.in/dkF5zVpq
