Myths and Realities of Clinical Trials Part 2 🟡 Myth 5: "Participants only receive placebos." Reality: Not all studies include placebos. In trials where they are used, participants are informed, and placebos are only used when it is ethically appropriate. Participants may receive the experimental treatment or the standard treatment, but safety and well-being are always prioritized. 🟡 Myth 6: "You can’t leave a trial once it starts." Reality: Participation in any clinical trial is entirely voluntary, and participants can withdraw at any time. This ensures that each person maintains their autonomy throughout the process. 🟡 Myth 7: "Clinical trials are only for young and healthy people." Reality: Clinical trials recruit participants of all ages, and many are specifically designed for groups such as older adults or people with pre-existing health conditions to develop safe and effective treatments for everyone. 🟡 Myth 8: "Clinical trials are conducted without medical supervision." Reality: All trials are monitored by specialized medical and scientific teams. Furthermore, ethics committees review and approve each study to protect the safety of participants. #CliniclaTrials #TheraResearch #HealthMyths #ClinicalResearch

🎀 Early Detection: A Key Ally in the Fight Against Breast Cancer During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we want to emphasize the power of early detection in the fight against this disease. Diagnosing breast cancer in its early stages significantly increases the chances of successful treatment, and that’s where research and clinical trials play a crucial role. 🔍 How do clinical trials help with early detection? Thanks to clinical trials, researchers have made important advances in improving diagnostic tools and early detection methods. Technologies like 3D mammography, liquid biopsies (which detect cancer cells in the blood), and genetic markers are being tested in clinical studies to identify tumors earlier and more accurately, even before symptoms appear. 📈 These innovations not only improve diagnostic accuracy but also reduce the number of false positives and false negatives, preventing unnecessary procedures and giving peace of mind to those undergoing screenings. 👩⚕️ Prevention starts with you Don’t forget the importance of regular self-exams and annual screenings like mammograms, especially if you have a family history of breast cancer or risk factors. Stay informed about the new detection technologies emerging from clinical trials and consult with your doctor about the most appropriate screenings for you. 💬 If you have questions about how to participate in a clinical trial or want to learn more about the latest innovations, don’t hesitate to seek medical advice. Clinical trials not only open doors to new treatments but also provide access to more advanced techniques for prevention and diagnosis. Early detection saves lives! 💖 #BreastCancer #EarlyDetection #Prevention #ClinicalTrials #MedicalResearch #WomenHealth #TakeCareOfYourHealth #HealthInnovation

The Role of Patients in Clinical Trials 🙌 Patients are at the heart of clinical trials. Without their participation, medical advances would not be possible. Today, we want to highlight the importance of patients in this process and how their contributions are transforming medicine. 🌍💡 - Patients as agents of change When patients choose to participate in a clinical trial, they are not only seeking new treatment options for themselves, but they are also helping science move forward. Their involvement allows researchers and doctors to test the safety and effectiveness of new treatments that could benefit thousands of people in the future. - How does patient participation make an impact? Access to innovative treatments: Many patients join clinical trials to gain access to therapies that are not yet available on the market. These treatments can offer new hope for difficult-to-treat or chronic diseases, and patients play a key role in helping determine whether these options are viable and safe. Contribution to scientific knowledge: Every patient who participates in a clinical trial provides valuable data that helps researchers better understand a disease, how it progresses, and how different treatments affect different types of people. This information is crucial for developing more effective, personalized therapies. An altruistic act: Many patients choose to participate not just for their own benefit but also to help others facing similar illnesses. By participating in clinical trials, they contribute to the development of treatments that could save or improve the lives of future generations. This act of generosity is one of the greatest legacies a patient can leave for the medical community. - Patient care and safety come first All clinical trials follow strict safety protocols and are overseen by medical teams and ethics committees. Patients who participate are carefully monitored throughout the process to ensure that the treatment is not only effective but also safe. Patient feedback during the trial is crucial to adjusting treatments and understanding their real-life impact. - A real testimony "Participating in a clinical trial gave me access to a treatment that changed my life, but it also gave me the opportunity to help others in the same situation. Knowing that my experience could improve medicine for the future is incredibly rewarding." - Clinical trial participant. 🎯 Your participation in clinical trials matters. You help pave the way for new treatments, not only for yourself but for thousands of others. Together, we build a healthier future! 🌟 #PatientsInScience #ClinicalTrials #MedicalInnovation #Health #MedicalResearch #TheraResearch

Myths and Realities of Clinical Trials 🔬 Did you know that clinical trials are essential for medical progress? Despite their importance, many myths create distrust. Today, we help clarify some of the most common ones. Discover the truth behind clinical trials! 💡 🟡 Myth 1: "Clinical trials are dangerous." Reality: All clinical trials are closely monitored by experts and regulated by strict safety standards. Before any treatment reaches patients, it goes through multiple phases of research and testing to minimize risks. Participant safety is always the top priority. 🟡 Myth 2: "You only participate in a clinical trial if there are no other treatment options." Reality: Clinical trials are not just for patients without alternatives. Often, healthy individuals or patients looking to access innovative treatments before they become widely available participate. Every participation contributes to the development of new therapies! 🧬 🟡 Myth 3: "Clinical trials are just experiments for pharmaceutical companies." Reality: Clinical trials are scientific investigations that involve doctors, scientists, regulators, and many other stakeholders. Their goal is to test the safety and efficacy of new treatments that can benefit society as a whole. They are crucial for medical advances that change lives. 🌍❤️ 🟡 Myth 4: "Clinical trials are too expensive for participants." Reality: The costs of clinical trials, including treatments and monitoring, are usually covered by the study sponsors. Additionally, some trials even offer compensation for participants' time and travel. Participating should not be a financial burden. 💸✨ 🎯 Do you have any questions about clinical trials? In recent years, clinical trials for the treatment of Alzheimer's have made significant strides toward the possibility of slowing the progression of the disease. Two of the most promising drugs are lecanemab and donanemab, both aimed at eliminating beta-amyloid plaques in the brain, which are associated with cognitive decline. These treatments, approved in the United States for patients in the early stages of the disease, have demonstrated a reduction in the speed of cognitive decline by 27% to 35% in phase III clinical studies. Donanemab, for example, was authorized in 2023 and has shown to reduce the risk of progression to advanced stages of Alzheimer’s by up to 39%. However, these treatments are still under review in Europe, and their efficacy depends on early diagnosis, before the disease has caused severe brain damage. Additionally, the development of oral medications, such as ALZ-801, offers new hope, as there is a goal to simplify treatment to make it more accessible, although more long-term studies are still needed to evaluate its safety and effectiveness. These advancements highlight the importance of clinical trials, which not only assess the efficacy of treatments but also contribute to improving early diagnosis, a key factor in maximizing the benefits of available therapies (65yMas) (BarcelonaBeta) (Quirónsalud). #ClinicalTrials #Alzheimer #TheraResearch
