As part of #16DaysActivism2024, CYJULERC team, led by the President, Justice Esther Ayuk alongside renowned Obstetrician and Gynecologist Dr Asonganyi Etienne, medical doctor in one of our partner health facilities and resource person for the SAAF Project, were invited as resource persons to participate and share our successful strategy in the fight against #SGBV and the promotion of Reproductive Health and Justice in a powerful 16-day activism roundtable at the British High Commission Residency in Yaoundé. Over 50 heads of CSOs invited were drilled on the importance of Reproductive Freedom as a key factor in the fight against SGBV focusing on the access to legal Safe Abortion care and Contraception services, the clinical management of rape cases, to fight the high rate of unwanted pregnancies, unsafe abortions, infanticide and maternal mortality in Cameroon. CYJULERC contacts were shared to the participants to enable them get in touch whenever necessary for Abortion Care & Services and join the advocacy team to end Restrictive Abortion Laws to save women’s lives in Cameroon.
