"Very few people wash their hands correctly," CNN reported in April 2021. Before this report, the results of a study carried out by USDA revealed that #97% of the participants washed their hands wrongly. These statistics prove how important knowledge of Community Wash Promotion, #CWPS (which includes proper handwashing) is for the improvement of #individual and #global #health. This #October, we are organising a #3day (30th of October- 1st of November) workshop on #CWPS. Today, as the world celebrates the Global Hand Hygiene Day, under the slogan: "Accelerate action together. SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands," make #handwashing your go to defence mechanism against germs and bacteria. Proper handwashing takes just 20seconds of your time, costs almost nothing and yet, it can protect you and your loved ones from respiratory and diarrheal infections. #rdwb #washhands #savelives Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST) HWTS Network Plan International Cameroon

At Research and Development Without Borders we are dedicated to ensuring that the communities we #serve have access to #safe drinking water. To enhance our capacity to deliver on this commitment, we recently organized an in-house training for our team members in Douala on bacterial water quality testing. The training was aimed at equipping our staff with the skills to: 💦 Collect water samples from various sources, including wells and boreholes. 💦Use specialized equipment to test for bacterial contamination in water. 💦Accurately analyze and interpret results to guide our interventions. This internal training marks an important step toward strengthening our technical expertise in water quality monitoring. The hands-on nature of the training provided our team with practical experience, making them well positioned confidently apply the knowledge gained in the field. Going forward, this enhanced capability will contribute to the effectiveness of our water quality testing projects and our broader mission to improve public health outcomes through better access to safe drinking water. 😇We are proud of the dedication and commitment shown by our team and look forward to continuing our work towards the achievement of #SDG6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
