Craftsmanship meets robotics Optimising production means choosing the right methods for the project, to balance value, quality and scale. Sometimes it’s traditional cut-and-sew, other times a combination of semi-automated machines. We have the capacity to produce at significant scale yet still thrive on fulfilling bespoke, specialised orders. Innovation and craft — side by side. Machinery won’t replace humans — they augment and enhance. With built-in safety features and emissions reductions, they’re also designed to protect them. 

For us, sustainability begins with a mindset, then becomes a journey. The small steps we take every day add up to something big. This backpack is an example of that. Looking at the details, we were able to make a series of choices on material, dye, hardware and construction that incrementally amount to a significant reduction in impact on the planet, once in full production. As large-scale manufacturers of bags for over two decades we've gained some insights into sustainable materials and methods, yet we still can learn more. Let us know your thoughts.

Worry not, machines won't replace humans — at least for the foreseeable future. The way we see it, they augment and enhance us. In fact, with built-in safety features and emissions reductions, ours are designed to protect humans. Time-earned craftsmanship meets the precision of robotics. We have invested deeply into semi-automated machinery - check out the video to see just some of these marvels of engineering.

Our new roof! We recently installed systems at two of our facilities. Together they produce over 2500kW per day, power the sales and admin offices, the showrooms and two of our production lines. They also reduce carbon emissions by up to 600t. Sustainability starts with a mindset. Yes, it's important to look at the big picture, but incremental changes are key. They are the paving stones on our path to reducing our impact on the planet and its inhabitants. It’s a process and a journey rather than a final destination – we can always do better. We plan to be off grid by 2028. Our initiatives centre around lowering our energy consumption, recommending less harmful materials and finding ways to reduce glue and other emissions (our new state-of-the-art machines).
