As the season rolls on we took a different look at the mid-autumn festival and its traditional motifs.  Inspired by the natural cyclical occurrences (moon) and humankind’s inhabitation of this planet within the bounds of the laws of physics ‘FRACTAL FRESNAL’ is a sculptural artwork that explores natural artifacts violently changed by human intervention ( burnt log of timber ) and a seemingly delicate block of crystalline material whose gentler seeming intervention is at the mercy of a machine. This dichotomy presents a universal truth - that humanity's impact on the natural world is not immutable - the Anthropocene is upon us, and mankind’s presence is marked in the geological record. It will eventually become strata with the other ages that predated us. If you suppose the earth's existence has been 12 hours then humanity's appearance has been for the last second, 5 mass extinctions having come before the current one we are enduring. What this piece reveals in somewhat trite focal lenses is that the planet will most certainly endure though it is likely humanity's presence will be a mere blip, a curio, a shift in the geological record that will ultimately unchange the course of the planet. #INDJ #Midautumn #midautumnfestival #art #sculpture #nature Sabrina Douglas-Jones 马利娜 Ian Douglas - Jones

We are honored to have received the Special Excellence Award from the New Zealand Chinese Building Industry Association (NZCBIA) last Friday, presented by the New Zealand Minister of Building and Construction, Mr. Chris Penk MP. It was a privilege to be congratulated by distinguished guests, including the New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr. Christopher Luxon, MP Mrs. Nancy Lu (MP, MPA, CA), Auckland Mayor Mr. Mayor Wayne Brown, and NZ China Consul General Mr. Chen Shijie, to name just a few of the esteemed attendees. A special Thank you to Mr. Frank Xu, President of the NZCBIA, for putting together this amazing association and event, and to Mr. Patrick English, CEO of MultiMarketing and MC, for his continuous support and advocacy of our work. In 2023, this prestigious award went to Wētā Workshop Ltd for their project in Haikou as well as to Fred Van Brandenburg for the #Marisfrolg Campus in Shenzhen. Receiving the award this year is humbling, and we are deeply grateful for this recognition. It is a testament to our commitment to pushing the boundaries of collaboration and innovation in our field. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible team at Atelier INDJ - your passion, creativity, and commitment have been the driving force behind this achievement. Another special mention and thank you to our wonderful Auckland based INDJ Design Intern Xingyue Lin （Rachel）who successfully supported the NZCBIA booth design of this years #NZIBES.
