Yesterday was #RUOKDay2024. The message is: Ask R U OK? Any Day. It's an important reminder for all of us to check in with our colleagues, friends and family to offer support and build meaningful connections, because life happens every day. We’re holding lots of activities across our offices to create opportunities for our teams to connect. Livestreamed across our Australian offices, Olympic gold medallist Libby Trickett shared her emotional experience at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. A moment of vulnerability with her team sparked a wave of support, resulting in a record-breaking victory. We also hosted a series of mental health walks and yoga sessions to emphasise the importance of taking a moment to clear your mind and engage with others. Our New Zealand offices had a guest speaker from MATES in Construction NZ, an Aurecon partner, focusing on suicide prevention in construction, touching on local challenges and what can be done to support each other. #RUOKAnyDay #RUOK

Fantastic to be part of today’s IAQ (Infrastructure Association of Queensland Inc) Infrastructure Assembly where Michael Nolan presented alongside Nicolas J.A. Buchoud, President of the Grand Paris Alliance for Metropolitan Development, and Emma Thomas from the Games Venue and Legacy Delivery Authority. Michael spoke about applying a global approach to investment in infrastructure resilience, while Nicolas shared lessons from the Paris 2024 Games, and Emma discussed the essential delivery for successfully hosting Brisbane 2032. Key takeaway: strong climate resilience of our essential infrastructure will be key to attracting investment in the leadup to Brisbane 2032, as well as maximising legacy opportunities for Queensland, Australia and Oceania.
