#PFAS is a category of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) that have received widespread attention in European and American countries for over a decade. This category includes thousands of compounds such as PFOA, PFOS, PFNA, PFHxS, and PFBA, which are difficult to decompose and can easily accumulate in the environment. #Japan has relatively lenient PFAS regulations, but is still studying the risks they pose to human health. On August 9, 2024, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) of #India announced a significant update📋 to the #cosmetics registration and import process. Under the new directive, companies submitting applications through the Sugam online portal will be limited to a maximum of 50 products per single application. Recently, #HongKong Customs received a referral regarding a case of mercury poisoning where a consumer using a #whitening moisturizer. Tests revealed that this moisturizer contained 23,000 ppm of #mercury. Following this, Customs discovered that two other whitening moisturizers from the same brand had mercury levels reaching 24,000 ppm.
