GP stake deals have become increasingly popular in recent years, with investors getting to grips with what these transactions might mean for the longer-term. While today’s macro-economic environment may appear to be making some headwinds over the short-term, research within our Private Equity Findings report, suggests this will remain a practical channel over the longer term to ease financial constraints that firms face. AntimicrobialResistance (AMR) has been named one of the top ten global threats to human and animal health by the World Health Organization and is predicted to cause a 3.8% decrease in global GDP by 2050. We are pleased to have signed the Investor Action on #AMR (IAAMR)’s Public Investor Statement, which calls for global action to combat #DrugResistance. Read the statement and find out more about IAAMR: https://ow.ly/VXIr50Tfeaj
BREAKING: Investors representing over $13 trillion in combined assets have called on global leaders to tackle the antimicrobial resistance crisis 📣 Ahead of the United Nations General Assembly’s second-ever High-Level Meeting on #AntimicrobialResistance (AMR) in September, 80 investors have backed a statement from the Investor Action on Antimicrobial Resistance (IAAMR), urging policymakers to ramp up efforts to combat the growing public health threat 💊 AMR has been recognised as a systemic risk akin to COVID-19 and the 2008 financial crisis. It is projected to cause 10 million deaths annually by 2050, and lead to $440 billion in productivity losses per year by 2035. An estimated 80% of antibiotics are administered to livestock rather than people in the United States alone. As Jeremy Coller, FAIRR’s Founder, highlights, investors recognise that AMR is a threat to the health of our people, planet and investment returns. The IAAMR initiative was founded by FAIRR, the Access to Medicine Foundation, and the UK Department of Health and Social Care. Read the press release in full 👉 https://lnkd.in/gnNZeQwD

We’re proud to announce the closing of our GP-led credit transaction with Abry Partners. At $1.6 billion, this is the largest credit continuation vehicle ever created. The continuation vehicle will provide full liquidity to Abry’s existing investors and give new and continuing investors the opportunity to seed Abry Partners’ new private credit strategy. https://ow.ly/9BP950TaVuK

Private Equity Findings was launched 15 years ago during the Global Financial Crisis. At that time, we spoke to three academics about their research on PE and how investors would fare. In light of today’s turbulent markets, we revisit key topics with them once again to get their take on the industry. Hear more from Antoinette Schoar in this discussion. https://ow.ly/cAhz50SXly8
