  • Murano VR – Museum Exhibits in 30 seconds Exhibition: NXT (VR) Exhibit: Murano Introduction: "Murano" is the name of the café at the Shanghai Museum of Glass, inspired by the small Italian island near Venice, renowned for its long tradition of glassmaking. The digital twin of Murano Café is a water-filled, minimalist temple featuring ice cream and Roman statues. Its otherworldly environment invites visitors to relax, play, and cool down. In reality, Murano serves as a community hub and a common starting point for exploring the museum. Tech:  "Design Wing VR" is part of NXT, the real-time 3D digital twin of the Shanghai Museum of Glass, created using the Unreal Engine. It is accessible to all museum visitors in both VR and controller versions. - The series "Museum Exhibits in 30 seconds" introduces new exhibits, installations and spaces at the Shanghai Museum of Glass, curated, designed and brought to life by COO Studio. - #museum #museumlife #museumlifestyle #shanghai #culture #museumdesign #exhibitiondesign #installations #designinstallations #artinstallations #behindthescenes #museumplanning  #VR #Virtualreality #Unreal #Unrealengine #Digitaltwin #Digitalmuseum #Virtualmuseum

  • “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” — Coco Chanel Glass and the Human Form — Museum Exhibits in 30 seconds Exhibition: Permanent Exhibition H2/Art Exhibit: Glass and the Human Form Introduction: Glass, with its ability to flow and then solidify into diverse forms, mirrors the fluidity inherent in fashion and our physical selves. Fashion’s ever-evolving nature reflects our society’s and individual’s fluid identities, allowing for the expression of myriad personas and styles. The body itself is a canvas of change, capable of adopting various shapes through movement or transformation over time. Together, these elements speak to the dynamic nature of being, highlighting the beauty and complexity of constant change and the power of self-expression. The Shanghai Museum of Glass’s creative team conducted workshops to investigate the transformative nature of glass and the human form. Using AI-tools for visualization, they explored innovative ways to integrate glass into wearable art and body-centric designs. ——— The series "Museum Exhibits in 30 seconds" introduces new exhibits, installations and spaces at the Shanghai Museum of Glass, curated, designed and brought to life by COO Studio. ——— #museum #museumlife #museumlifestyle #shanghai #culture #museumdesign #exhibitiondesign #installations #designinstallations #artinstallations #behindthescenes #museumplanning #fashion #lifestyle #ai #midjourney

  • The series "Museum Exhibits in 30 seconds" introduces new exhibits, installations and spaces at the Shanghai Museum of Glass, curated, designed and brought to life by COO Studio. Exhibition: Permanent Exhibition H3/All Things Glass Exhibit: Respect and Reflect Introduction: The "Respect and Reflect" section highlights exhibits at the Shanghai Museum of Glass damaged by human actions. While the loss saddens us and the creators, we've addressed these issues as well as the consequences for those responsible. The museum warmly welcomes visitors of all ages to explore, learn, and enjoy while adhering to safety guidelines. Let's make every visit enriching and respectful, turning our shared space into a source of inspiration and education for everyone. While their actions were unfortunate, they chose not to flee or hide. Encouraged and assisted by their parents, they proactively approached museum staff, owned up to their mistake, and accepted responsibility for their actions. What message would you convey to these children? If you found yourself in a similar situation, how would you respond? ——— #shanghaimuseumofglass #museum #museumdesign #shanghai #culture #exhibitiondesign #installations #designinstallations #artinstallations

  • COO was awarded a German Design Award in Gold for their design of THE BOX Beijing. On January 26, 2024, Chen Ying of COO traveled to Frankfurt/Germany, to accept the award on stage. THE BOX is a renovation project that aims to transform an old shopping mall in Chaowai District into a modern retail hub and pop-culture center. Regularly curating cultural events and exhibitions, THE BOX has become the new nexus for the pop-culture community in Beijing, sparking heated discussions across social media platforms. The untouched concrete beams and columns stretch a spatial skeleton where LED screens are mounted to display dynamic content. The atmosphere is kept raw and unfinished to resonate with Gen-Z’s appreciation of authenticity and the notion of always being in-the-making. While keeping the rough and authentic undertone of the place, vibrant CMYK colors are introduced to organize the complexity of the interior spaces. Areas of the building are color-coded. Key functions and circulation elements are highlighted with the same concept. The synergy between the public space and the wayfinding system harmoniously fulfills the dual purpose of a contemporary shopping mall and a vibrant cultural hub. Beyond functionality, The BOX stands out with a conceptually and visually innovative identity, cementing its position at the forefront of Beijing’s urban regeneration efforts. #germandesignawards #germandesigncouncil #retaildesign #theboxbeijing

By making conscious choices, we communicate our identity to the world, forming connections with those who share similar backgrounds or values. Through our outward appearance, we celebrate our uniqueness and contribute to a richer, more accepting society. Have you chosen any particular outfit or accessory today to express your personality or mood? Why did you choose to wear this outfit today? • Completed - Vans' new concept store at Taikoo Li Chengdu COO teamed up with Vans to design Vans' first new OTW concept store in China, located in Chengdu's landmark lifestyle shopping mall, Taikoo Li. This mall, wrapped around Daci Temple, is highly popular with younger, lifestyle-conscious consumers and is the top shopping destination in China. The store design aims to be pinnacle and unique, meeting the high expectations of the brand and its customers. The brief was clear: "Build a boutique store that features the most unique design, offers the best level of store experience, and showcases the pinnacle of our product line. A place to meet, create, and influence." Situated in a premium ground-level location, the store spans 178 m². The walls and display cases are made of Skatelite Pro®, the same material used in professional skateparks. The space is sleek and clean, allowing products and artworks to stand out. Aluminum surfaces, polished terrazzo, and large light ceilings create a high-end boutique feel, contrasted by bold urban artworks. Two artists were invited to work in the store until its opening. Street artist Disor draws inspiration from underground music culture and graphics, bringing a modern twist to graffiti. One entire wall is dedicated to the theme of "Noise," symbolizing disbelief and an uncompromising spirit. It reflects young people's interpretation of the world and themselves, expressing their uninhibited hearts and limitless futures. Donis, a young graffiti artist from Xinjiang, combines bold, powerful strokes with a touch of elegance. The doorway features Vans' classic checkerboard design, with each grid containing unique fonts that blend the warmth of handwriting with the freedom of graffiti, creating a street vibe infused with Chinese calligraphy. The centerpiece graffiti, "Nailed It" (or "Skateboarding Success!" in Chinese), symbolizes challenge and victory. It blends traditional Persian carpet patterns with modern checkered designs, showcasing the beauty of old and new in harmony. This store explores the harmonious coexistence of tradition and modernity. "As a skater and a Sichuan local, designing the new Vans store was incredible. It was exciting to experience our local vibe meeting Vans' street culture and capturing that energy. I hope the new store brings the community together and adds more fun to our city!" Siyi Liu, Designer/COO "Vans Neo-Boutique is where Vans' premium style meets Chengdu street culture at such a historic and modern site. For me, it was a super fun ride diving into the whole skateboarding vibe and Chengdu lifestyle." • Museum Exhibits in 3️⃣0️⃣ seconds - Walk the Line Exhibition: BRKN - It is the faith of glass to break. Exhibit: Walk the Line Introduction: The installation ‘Walk the Line’ visualizes the kind of discipline and restraint we all choose to exercise in order to coexist responsibly and harmoniously. It is about staying true to ourselves, and to those whose promises we keep. The work invites visitors to physically walk the line: a path of light, culminating in a floor-to-ceiling LED wall displaying the lyrics to the now iconic, eponymous song. These tenets that individuals choose to uphold - or to break - are of course intangible. Their ethereal quality is evoked here by reflections of solid, overhead strips of light, resulting in a bright white line that appears to hover above a mirrored floor. A work about trust, and faith, and about responsibilities, its emotive musical accompaniment acknowledges that to walk the line is not always easy to do.
