Last month, the PPG team at the Headquarters in Hong Kong came together to support the global Plastic Free July movement. As part of our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, we took action to promote in our workplace the importance of reducing plastic waste under the theme of “Small Steps, Big Difference”. Our senior leadership team kicked off the month by leading the way and pledging to reduce their personal plastic consumption. We also distributed reusable PPG tote bags to all our colleagues and encouraged them to make the same commitment. In addition, we set up a plastic bag collection and recycling station at the office and collected unused office stationery for donation. Recognizing that every small step can make a difference in protecting our environment, we're passionate about doing our part to create a healthier, more sustainable world. #WearePPG

We recently ran a series of "Discover PPG & Service Excellence" core trainings and team-building activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia across our locations in Dammam, Riyadh, and Jeddah, led by our MEA Learning & Development Lead, Ms. Tadzmahal Yancha Ulao. At PPG, teamwork is fundamental to our success. These activities allow our teammates to build strong bonds and have fun. It was truly rewarding to see our associates engaged and enjoying the sessions. Jonathan Song, our Chief Commercial Officer, recently joined a panel discussion at SCMP Live: Redefining Hong Kong Series 2024. Moderated by Wynna Wong, the panel included Bart Buiring, Dane Cheng, and Annie Yau Tse, discussing Hong Kong’s evolving role in tourism and retail. During the session, they explored the current state of tourism in Hong Kong and shared visions for its future, highlighting the importance of diverse events to attract new tourists and encourage longer stays. They also discussed engaging affluent travelers with unique experiences. At PPG, we tailor our services to meet the different needs of travelers , from airport lounges, wheelchair service through to premium experiences such as VIP concierge services, in-lounge private spaces, and limousine services. PPG started its journey in Hong Kong 26 years ago, and we have been crafting different airport experiences as needs continue to evolve and the profile of passengers expand with Airport Authority Hong Kong's growth, with the airport’s development, we believe it will further enhance the city’s competitive advantages.

Intervals, our award-winning airport cocktail bar concept at Hong Kong International Airport, launches a brand-new cocktail series of virtual bar takeovers – “Cocktail Globetrotting”. The new experience features an award-winning agenda of celebrated bartenders, spotlighting notable bars, bartenders, and their signature creations from around the world. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in a traditional bar guest shift experience with monthly rotating cocktails prepared on-site, accompanied by a “live” video from respective bartenders at different locations. Here, they will also share inspirations behind their concoctions, along with top travel recommendations within their home cities. This exciting initiative aims to reinvent airport transits with a fun beverage adventure before passengers board a plane. It also echoes PPG’s purposes, which are the emphasis on culture, connections to destinations, and providing a platform to showcase talents. Kicking off the campaign is one of Asia’s finest bars, Andrew Ho from Hope & Sesame in Guangzhou, who ranked 14th on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024. The full lineup includes superstar bartenders from Sidecar in Delhi, Mandala Club in Singapore, Rayo in Mexico, Confidential in Tokyo, Penrose in Kuala Lumpur, Vida Rica at Mandarin Oriental Macau, and Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar in Bangkok. Intervals’ “Cocktail Globetrotting” is an eight-month-long series that will run from August 2024 to March 2025, launching today and rotating every 15th of the month until the end of the campaign. We are excited to announce the completion of our strategic expansion in Southwestern China with the opening of the third Plaza Premium Lounge at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. This new location, situated in the domestic departure hall, follows the successful launches of the Plaza Premium Lounge at Domestic Departures in November 2023 and the second one at International Departures in April 2024. In this project, our concierge team at Jiangbei International Airport, will offer a range of airport passenger services that will complement the airport lounge experience with services including buggy services, transit services, baggage handling, fast-track security, and customized travel assistance for passengers with special needs. We have partnered with Jon Ramen, a renowned ramen chain in China to offer a unique culinary experience for travelers with a special menu that incorporates the local culinary flavours of Sichuan and Chongqing. During the “Asia's 50 Best Bars” week, Intervals, our award-winning cocktail bar and restaurant at Hong Kong International Airport, hosted the "Bar Stools and Boarding Passes" fireside chat at SOHO House Hong Kong.   The panel discussion brought together industry luminaries, including Mei Mei Song, Director of Global Brands and Transformation of PPG, John Ng, Director of Wine and Spirits for Tasting Kitchen and Academy Chair of the Asia’s 50 Best Bar, Andrew Ho, Founder of Hope & Sesame in Guangzhou, and Imelda Ng, Beverage Manager of Intervals, moderated by Managing Director of Companion Communications, Dominique Backhouse.   In the insightful panel, the speakers engaged in an intriguing dialogue on the dynamic intersection of F&B and travel, how culinary experience plays an integral part in one’s journey, whether it be in the city or at the airport. At the event, we also announced the launch of Interval’s digital guest shift campaign, "Cocktail Globetrotting" in August. This virtual bar- guest shift will feature monthly cocktails curated by some of the best bartenders from around the world, to begin, Hope & Sesame Guangzhou, one of the most revered bars in China will kick off the program. Budapest Airport recently launched two new Chinese flights in the last week of June, one of which is the direct Xi’an-Budapest route operated by Shanghai Airlines and China Eastern Airlines. With this, Ferenc Liszt International Airport now offers the most extensive route network to the Far Eastern country in East-Central Europe. A press conference was hosted to kick off this new development, supported by the PPG Hungary team. To enhance the overall experience, we have teamed up with China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines and have started welcoming passengers from both airlines at Plaza Premium Lounge Budapest. Congratulations to Budapest Airport, Shanghai Airlines and China Eastern Airlines on this new milestone.
