✨We are proud to share our contribution to an extraordinary project: the interior cladding of the two main shops at the National Museum of Qatar, designed by Koichi Takada Architects. 💼 #RIMOND has assisted Devoto Design in evaluating and implementing the selected technical solution on the double-curved surfaces through the use of a bespoke parametric tool developed for the project. ✔️ The result? A comprehensive cladding model that fed the #CNC fabrication of over 40,000 unique components, delivering the original architectural intent. National Museum of Qatar – Gift Shops, designed by Koichi Takada Architects as part of Ateliers Jean Nouvel’s National Museum of Qatar. The Museum Gift Shop -174 sqm and Children’s Gift Shop -97 sqm are inspired by Qatar’s Dahl Al Misfir, the “Cave of Light.” The curved, layered wooden surfaces evoke the cave’s gypsum crystals, with natural light streaming from above.✨ Crafted from 40,000 sustainably sourced European oak pieces, each part was CNC-produced in Italy and assembled into a rib-like steel structure. Reflecting the desert rose theme, the design mirrors Qatar’s desert landscape.
