Sanlorenzo Yacht has announced the groundbreaking LIFE MYSTIC project, a collaboration with Nanni Industries and Ranieri Tonissi, to create the world’s first green methanol bi-fuel @superyacht by 2027. Co-funded by the EU, the project involves a total investment of over €4.8 million and will run for 54 months. The project was presented at Sanlorenzo‘s headquarters in La Spezia. The event, titled “The First Bi-Fuel Methanol Superyacht and the Management of Alternative Fuels in Italian Marinas,” brought together industry experts, port authorities, and Assomarinas (the Italian Association of Marinas) to discuss the challenges and future of alternative fuel adoption in marinas. On November 8th, Simpson Marine will be supporting Make Waves for Hong Kong - a 12-hour+ multi-relay swim around Hong Kong island, with our colleague Marko Stojanović as one of the swimmers in #TEAMBLUE. This first Nautor Swan Maxi to hit the water showed a balance between #comfortable family #cruising, #excellent bluewater #seakeeping and #racing prowess that Finnish builder Nautor Swan is well known for in its fleet of luxury #sailboats. The first Swan 108, dubbed Fancy by her French owners, was created with the aim to, “seamlessly blend the virtues of speed with elegance, strength, reliability, and, above all, to create a hull that ensures the comfort and safety for both the owner and guests while sailing in conditions likely to be encountered while cruising middle-distance passages,” said naval architect Germán Frers, who designed the hull of the Swan 108. Exterior design came from the Milan-based Micheletti + Partners and the interior was created in-house by Nautor Swan, with a team headed by designer Misa Poggi. The concept for the Swan 108 had just been announced when the owners of hull one connected with the Finnish builder.
