Responsibilities

  • To deepen the relationship with a portfolio of existing MNC clients with an aim to increasing commercial banking penetration with strong focus on green structured finance, market risks, working capital loans, cash management, supply chain and trade finance solutions.
  • To explore new potential MNC corporate clients and international financial sponsors in China with a strong focus on SG Global clients, to contribute more on SG China’s balance sheet grow with investment banking mindset and structured capability.
  • Regularly to communicate with Global relationship managers to update on local developments/opportunities and keep abreast of any change in global account strategy.
  • To identify cross-selling opportunities on all prospects and existing clients on CIB products and to assist the respective CIB product sales to win the mandate from relationship perspective.
  • To Work closely with business line to identify, sell, win mandate and execute deals.
  • To supervise, as a team leader, the sales activities of the FIC, PCM and Trade Finance Sales to ensure a strict sales discipline is implemented with well documented call plan and call reports.
  • To guide the CA closely to ensure credit proposals are structured and priced properly to protect the bank’s interest with acceptable return and in line with the global account strategy set out by the Global Relationship Managers.
  • To plan visits to facility clients at acceptable frequencies to update business development of the clients as required by the management and the Risk. Close monitoring existing client portfolio to flag and to identify and to react to early warning signals on deterioration of counterparty risk and operational risks.
  • To work with Compliance and KYC team to ensure all KYC is done properly for both new and existing clients adopted at the branch level and escalate timely for management approval for all exceptions.
  • Promptly to respond to any enquiries/referral from overseas SG locations on banking service in China.
  • Other ad hoc tasks / relevant responsibilities as assigned by the management.

Required

Profile required

Academic Background (degree and major):

  • Bachelor degree (Finance or business discipline and Master Degree can be a plus)

Working Experience / Technical Skills & Know how:

  • At least 8 years’ experience in investment or commercial banking with no less than 3 years’ experience as a team manager, preferably with a major international bank
  • Solid accounting, financial and credit analysis skills
  • Sound knowledge on different bank products, particularly investment banking and commercial banking products
  • Investment banking experience is preferred to have

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build up rapport quickly with clients.
  • Good presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Team playing with some leadership skills.

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in Mandarin and English (both written and spoken)

Computer Skill:

  • Good PC skills of PPT, Word, Excel

Professional Qualification (if applicable):

  • CFA or ACCA qualification is a plus

Others if any (require to travel, etc):

  • Frequent business travels are required

Department Description:

To grow the commercial banking business by both actively acquiring new multinational relationships with good credit to enrich the portfolio and deepening relationship with existing MNC client’s wallet. As first point of contact to service the relevant client base, to identify and to initiate corporate and investment banking opportunities, to structure and to execute solutions in line with the local business plan and global account strategies. Familiar with investment banking products including but not limited to Project Finance, Acquisition finance.
