Xiaomi SU7 deliveries exceeded 10,000 units in July and will continue to exceed the mark in August, Xiaomi EV said, adding that it expects to meet its full-year 100,000-unit delivery target ahead of schedule in November.
Xiaomi EV, the electric vehicle (EV) unit of Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY), today announced that deliveries of its only currently available model, the SU7, exceeded 10,000 units in July, the second time it has surpassed the mark after June.
As it did last month, Xiaomi EV did not release specific figures for the monthly deliveries.
Xiaomi EV will continue to deliver more than 10,000 units in August and is expected to meet its full-year 100,000-unit delivery target ahead of schedule in November, it said on Weibo.
Xiaomi launched the SU7 on March 28, offering three variants -- standard, Pro, and Max -- at starting prices of RMB 215,900 ($29,840), RMB 245,900, and RMB 299,900, respectively.
Deliveries of the standard and Max versions of the SU7 began on April 3, and deliveries of the SU7 Pro began in May.
On May 15, Xiaomi EV said it completed delivery of its 10,000th SU7. On June 13, deliveries of the model reached 20,000 units.
It had previously announced specific figures for monthly deliveries, including 7,058 units delivered in April and 8,630 units in May. However, it did not provide specific figures from June's figures.
Xiaomi EV had a record 3,900 insurance registrations last week, up 160 percent from 1,500 the week before, according to figures compiled by CnEVPost. As of July 28, Xiaomi EV had insurance registrations of 11,400 vehicles in July.
Xiaomi EV said in a July 2 letter to order holders on Weibo that the delivery ramp-up of the Xiaomi SU7 was progressing well, with the factory having opened double-shift production in June, and deliveries having exceeded 10,000 units in a single month.
Xiaomi would conduct a new round of production line tuning and maintenance to prepare for further capacity enhancement, the company said at the time.
Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun said in a Weibo post on July 26 that capacity ramp-up at the Xiaomi EV plant was complete, and the full-year delivery target of 100,000 units was expected to be completed by early November.
Xiaomi EV would deliver at least 100,000 units for the full year of 2024 and will challenge the 120,000-unit delivery target, Xiaomi management said in a May 23 earnings call.
