The World AgriTech USA summit in San Francisco was massive! Corporations, global startups, investors, growers and retailers met for a 2 day event full of activities. Main highligths in Danta Fund´s eyes that serve both founders and investors: *****AI needs to be backed by good data, have a specific purpose or usage and generate $$$$$ for whoever is using it (Claudia Roessler from Microsoft) *****Labour in the USA has become a BIG issue, growers, distributors, corporations are looking to fill the gap. #latam #startups who wish to land in the USA need to look for ways to solve this issue. More robotics and AI are needed *****SOSV is obssessed with companies that are capital efficient (Po Bronson -partner). Danta Fund: YES! All #vc and #startups need to think about capital efficiency and NOT capital intensity *****The current political situation is getting us all out of our comfort zone. We have two announcements this week! This post is dedicated to the first announcement. Our Managing Partner, Galit Flasterstein, has signed a SAFE agreement to invest in Unibaio, while at Danta Fund we await for the fund to be incorporated in Delaware. Once our fund is incorporated, this investment will be assigned to Danta Fund. We are so excited to welcome our very first startup to our Danta portfolio. First time Danta Fund participates in a Demo Day with #brazilian #startups only! Thank you Mastera and its founders Tainan Lamas and Rafael Vivian for the invite. The collaboration of Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" and FEALQ - Fundação de Estudos Agrários Luiz de Queiroz was key. Latin America is not only Spanish Speaking Latam, nor only Brazil: we can collaborate as a region. Congratulations to all the startups that were brave to pitch today. Looking forward to more talks.

Last year´s last Danta Fund newsletter (subscribe below in first comment) mentioned our plans to ally with insurance companies and banks to understand how best to back farming with technology. RISK MANAGEMENT: that is one key element we will be looking at in startups this 2025.
