Today we released our zero-obligation, streamlined business emissions estimator for service-based companies in North America. Get started at your own pace via the link in comments. ✅ Aligns with the GHG Protocol (includes scopes, 1, 2 and 3) ✅ Focuses on the most relevant activities / emission sources of a service-based business, using publicly available emission factors from U.S. & Canadian governments ✅ Provides a convenient way to obtain a realistic estimate of operational emissions WHY WE BUILT THIS 1️⃣ While there are plenty of great free tools online to estimate your company's operational CO2 emissions, we have found that most are one-size-fits-all, use global averages, and ask questions not relevant to a service-based business 2️⃣ We only work with companies based in the U.S. and Canada–if you represent one, we want to make your first climate journey step convenient, educational and relevant 3️⃣ We have been listening and learning for several years, about the challenges small businesses face when trying to complete an initial emissions benchmark So if you are looking to complete your very first, or obtain an additional business emissions estimate, our Climate Impact Estimator is now available to you. WHAT YOU WILL NEED By default the tool is meant to measure a 12-month period, e.g. Jan 1-Dec 31) ✔ Facilities info (total ft2 or m2 of offices or warehouses) ✔ Remote employees (total number) ✔ Fuel consumption (vehicles if you have them) ✔ Spend data for goods & services you paid for (reference a P&L report) ✔ Travel data (how many flights by geographic region, how many hotel nights) ⏱ TIME TO COMPLETE As little as 10 minutes for a small business–up to an hour for a bigger business.
