Promises 04:26
The day is cold Though colder for you I'd guess The choice was hard That must count for somethin' But these promises we break you still believe You changed your mind Who saw that comin? When I grieve Make sure it won't mean nothin This defeat Had made us all too trustin Now you're free Of everything We'd Broken The day is fought With another ones regret We carry on Like you don't feel nothin But these promises we break could never be You changed their minds Couldn’t see that comin When I grieve Make sure it won't mean nothin This defeat Had made us all too trustin Now you're free Of everything We'd Broken Ohh, I'm talkin to no one The day is cold Rough colder for you, I'd guess My time is up And I won't keep anything But these promises we break I still believe

You call me an island Or you can call me a fool Call me whatever you want No care for the wounds You get what you wanted You've proven your point But I don't see it that way Was it really worth the fight? Cuz these victories are empty now They're empty now Who's to say what's wrong or right? All these victories are empty now And I'm empty now You call me an island Or you can call me your fool Call me whatever you want No care for the homes You got what you wanted You've proven your point You'd do anything (You've proven your point) You'd do anything Was it really worth the fight? Cuz these victories are empty now They're empty now Who's to say what's wrong or right? All these victories are empty now And I'm empty now

Dismantled 03:14
Tense Smiles They even shake hands But pleasantries in the air Die fast He's all Talk His ego could fill the room "What do you want from this?" She says He takes over the floor but every single word she's heard before From a louder mouth than his but he's got no idea just what he's stepped in And now she must decide To let him finish his whole diatribe With his lonely eyes in mind Yet he's got nothing to contribute here but White Noise And it shatters so violently with "I didn't ask for this" Well, No shit "What Have you done?" Your heart is growin' Colder than it would be If dead "This is not your world" She whispers Her voice rip apart His little lie No thanks You already had your chance And leaving it up to you We're dead No thanks You've already played your hand and leavin it up to you we're dead No thanks We're done listenin' to you We already tired that once And we're dead

Home 04:40
Her face in the mirror smilin' back with broken teeth A lingering feeling of hope underneath but she's faced with these terrible things they've done and that's chased with a mixer of lies and blood a pictures of them as one picturing them as one And he's facin' these demons he made alone and replacin memories of their home a place he will never go a place they can never go Don't stop now it's easy to fall down the way you handle what comes next will prove you, now and it's crazy to think they could feel alone and it takes me to misery of my own cuz nobody's goin' home everyone's lost their home She will find a way to rebuild they will find a way to rebuild it we will find a way to rebuild it all

Empty sterile corridor It's been your home, your bed and more Since everything happened Since everything happened Waitin' endlessly for news memorize those windows views how did it all happen? how did it all happen? You walk you wait you pray you do what you think will get you through the horror through the night repeating "I'm a good person, how did I end up here?" Someone knew this would happen someone knew this would happen No one knows where they came from No one knows where we went wrong when everything happened when everything happened You walk you wait you pray you do what you think will get you through the horror through the night repeating "I'm a good person, how did I end up here?" Someone knew this would happen someone knew this would happen (No one knows where they came from) Someone knew this would happen (No one knows where we went wrong) Someone knew this would happen (No one knows where they came from) Someone knew this would happen (No one knows where we went wrong) Someone knew this would

Stars will fade as we Break away The pain not receedin But least we're still breathin You're On your way but it's Way too late Our timeline is leakin But at least we're still breathin You're on your way but you're Way too late Our time here was fleetin But at least we're still breathin I fall away as we Receive our fate Time won't heal the bleedin But at least we're still breathin Every hope we wasted on tomorrow Was a meaningless weight holding us to days that never come Every hope we placed in that tomorrow Meant that we were more surprised when that Tomorrow never came Tomorrow never came

about

It's wild to be saying this but we started per-production on this record months after the release of After The Lights Failed in 2014. We tracked a bunch of it over the intervening years, and despite band member lineup shuffling, geographical relocation of several members, a few unrelated musical projects, two hard drives full of audio and their backups being lost, and then a global pandemic to top it all off - we did it.

We're proud to present the sequel to After The Lights Failed;
“Empty Victories”.

May it bring you joy, sorrow, solidarity, closure - whatever you'd like it to mean to you. It means the world to us.
