Digital Innovation Hub Cyprus signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EULEP - European Learning Platform. Under this MoU, EULEP - European Learning Platform and Digital Innovation Hub Cyprus (DiGiNN) will co-organise a series of initiatives focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Social Innovation (SI), benefiting Cypriot SMEs. This partnership marks a significant step towards making Continuous Vocational Education and Training (C-VET) more appealing for lifelong learning among the business community. EULEP unites 20 Chambers of Commerce & Industry and VET providers from 8 EU countries, while DiGiNN stands as the European Digital Innovation Hub of Cyprus, part of a pan-European network of 151 EDIHs across Europe. Dr. Katerina Loizou presented yesterday at the EEN Agrifood & Digital Sector Group hosted in Larnaka, Cyprus about the significance of digital transformation in the modern era as well as the necessity of cultivating a digital culture in SME’s. DiGiNN’s Project Manager also analysed the immediate objective of the digital innovation hub, which is to provide technology services and the adoption of digital technologies to SMEs and public organisations, fostering strategic collaborations with key stakeholders like the #EEN project. The presentation was followed up by a round table discussion with EEN & EDIH’s representatives as a testament to our commitment to adopting a collaborative environment that benefits our customers and stakeholders. European Digital Innovation Hub in Cyprus (DiGiNN) proudly among the sponsors of the international conference titled 'Democracy and Cybersecurity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence'. The conference is co-organized and co-funded by the University of Southern California (USC) in USA, the University of Cyprus, the CYENS Centre of Excellence and KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence and is held under the auspices of the Υφ. Έρευνας, Καινοτομίας & Ψηφιακής Πολιτικής / DepMinistry of Research, Innovation & Digital Policy. 📅 Wednesday, October 23, 2024 ⏰ 09:00 – 17:45 📌 University of Cyprus Campus (Auditorium B108, at the A. Distinguished speakers from the U.S. and Cyprus will discuss key issues related to cybersecurity, examining how Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies can impact disinformation threats and cyberattacks, as well as how critical infrastructures and databases can be protected. Kyriacos Pavlou, PhD, Managing Partner and Director of Electi Academy, represented the Digital Innovation Hub Cyprus (DiGiNN) at the "Boosting SMEs Cybersecurity Resilience" event organized by the Εθνικό Κέντρο Συντονισμού Κυβερνοασφάλειας, National Coordination Centre, NCC-CY and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). During the "Building the Cybersecurity workforce of tomorrow" panel, Dr. Pavlou shared valuable insights: Curriculum Alignment: Emphasized the need to incorporate the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework’s (ECSF) 12 profiles into educational programs, 
bridging the gap between academic principles and industry tools. Industry Collaboration: Advocated for partnerships between educational institutions and cybersecurity firms to provide real-world experience through internships and joint research. SME Skill Development: Recommended using ECSF as a benchmark for skill assessment and suggested implementing mentorship programs to facilitate knowledge transfer. Certifications: Highlighted the importance of relevant certifications and micro credentials, aligned with ECSF profiles. Future Skills: Discussed the growing importance of AI advances, quantum-resistant cryptography, and IoT security skills in the evolving cybersecurity landscape. Diversity in Cybersecurity: Stressed the need for diverse perspectives to drive innovation in security solutions. Dr. Pavlou underscored the critical shortage of cybersecurity professionals in the EU and the need for continuous learning in this rapidly evolving field.
