General Petraeus is a partner at the global investment firm KKR and Chairman of the KKR Global Institute, a think tank he founded in May 2013. Prior to joining KKR, he served in the US Army for more than 37 years. He graduated with honours from the U.S. Military Academy. He commanded troops in Iraq and served as commander of U.S. Central Command and coalition forces in Afghanistan. He also served in the former Yugoslavia. After retiring from the military, he led the CIA during the war on terror.
