Klára Bejblová, our Head of Retail Research, delves into the key findings from the 12th edition of the Shopping Centre Index, focusing on the impact of inflation and customer behaviour. What is notable about this year's results? 📊 Inflation played a significant role in 2022 & 2023, with its growth and level being truly incredible. It contributed to revenue growth, which actually declined in real terms. Shopping centre attendance increased by 4% year-on-year but is still 8% below 2019 levels. Turnover in shopping centres grew by 5% year-on-year, marking a 16% increase compared to 2019.
