We are thrilled that specialists at Fakultní nemocnice v Motole 🏥, the largest healthcare facility not only in the Czech Republic, but also one of the largest in Europe, are now benefiting from HAIDI. Alongside Motol, hospitals in České Budějovice, Prachatice and Písek have also implemented HAIDI, extending our technology’s impact to an additional 4,000 hospital beds. And that’s not all. Radek Horváth and Pavla Horváthová from 22 Hor Invest, who have extensive experience in the field of biotechnology and healthcare, have joined us on our journey. Together, they bring to Datlowe capital, but also valuable expertise. 📢 New WHO Handbook on HAI Surveillance Published 📢 We are pleased to announce our participation in a recent WHO webinar where a new handbook on the Surveillance of Health Care-Associated Infections (HAIs) at national and facility levels was introduced. This handbook provides practical guidance on starting HAI surveillance with limited resources. Key points discussed during the webinar include: ▪️ Integration with Antimicrobial Resistance Systems: Emphasizing the importance of combining these systems to enhance patient care. ▪️ Focus on Main HAI Types: The handbook addresses bloodstream infections, urinary tract infections, surgical site infections, and pneumonia. ▪️ Simplified Definitions: The proposed definitions are simplified and compared with ECDC definitions for easier implementation. ▪️ Upcoming Guide and Application: A new guide and application for data collection during Point Prevalence Surveys (PPS) will be available soon. Od letošního ledna HAIDI významně šetří čas epidemiologických pracovníků, kteří se nyní mohou více věnovat prevenci a kontrole infekcí. Nemocnice Písek sleduje výskyt těchto infekcí již 15 let a díky precizně nastavenému systému epidemiologického dohledu dosahuje dlouhodobě vynikajících výsledků. HAIDI, která spolupracuje s nemocničním informačním systémem, sbírá a analyzuje data z veškeré zdravotnické dokumentace, čímž odhaluje rizika a pomáhá předcházet infekcím. Last week, the Technical University of Liberec successfully hosted a Summer School on Epidemiology, attracting 30+ participants from 17 hospitals across the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The event was organized by experienced professionals in the field, Jana Prattingerova (Krajská nemocnice Liberec) and Vladimir Prikazsky, (TUL). Datlowe also contributed to the development of the curriculum through several lectures and workshops focused on utilizing AI as an effective tool for monitoring healthcare-associated infections. During the working hours, participants had the opportunity to learn from distinguished experts, i.e. Tomáš Roubíček, engage in hands-on activities with HAIDI led by our team member Lenka Vrana, and explore real-world case studies. To ensure a well-rounded experience, we included time for relaxation and enjoyment: Datlowe hosted an informal party at the popular science and technology center, iQLANDIA, on Thursday night, themed around "Cosmos." Feedback from attendees has been very positive, emphasizing the value of the knowledge gained and the connections established. This Summer School not only enhanced participants' understanding of epidemiology but also reinforced our commitment to advancing healthcare innovation. We eagerly anticipate future collaborations and hope this inaugural event marks the beginning of many more to come. #HAIDI #infectionprevention
