The Galileo Search and Rescue Service is now fully integrated into the COSPAS-SARSAT system, ready to support sailors around the world, including those competing in the Vendée Globe sailing race. This system is set to save over 3,000 lives annually, making a significant contribution to maritime safety. The third EUSPA Horizon Europe Call received 63 proposals, with more than 35% coming from SMEs. With a total budget of EUR 34.5 million, the Call focused on components of the #EUSpace Programme as EGNOS, Galileo, Copernicus and Secure SATCOM, aiming to foster the development of innovative space downstream applications.
