Geo-locational data comes in various forms and shapes 📍 A common challenge is handling time-limited entries, which are only relevant during a specific time window. For this purpose, we completely redesigned event listings in our mapping tool. One of the best use cases is the Whitelabel map called Artmap 🎨, one of the biggest art curators in the Czech Republic, and is set to change how cultural events are mapped and updated. The map showcases all types of cultural events, like exhibitions or vernissages. To make life easier for users, expired events are grayed out, and thus making them different from active events, which are colored based on their primary category.  Additionally, the Date&Time attribute now supports filtering options, so users can specify the time frame they are interested in, and view events happening during specific periods, such as this weekend. What started as a fun project has grown into a huge database of natural swimming locations, especially popular in the Czech Republic. From pools, lakes, and rivers to beaches, quarries, and water parks 🌊, Swimplaces covers it all! Swimplaces started in 2008 as "Kde se koupat" and became Swimplaces in 2013. Originally created by COex, it later became the start of our Mapotic journey, being one of the very first maps created on our tool! 🗺️ And we are not stopping there! 🤩 Just recently we published a new mobile app version 📱 that utilizes our newest framework, which is newer, cooler, and quite a bit easier to maintain on our side. Our recent work with CSOB on the #DoKapsy od ČSOB mobile app is a perfect example of this. We have collaborated with #ČSOB to work on the DoKapsy mobile app, focusing on making it easy for users to find great places to eat🍽️and exciting travel suggestions. We’ve designed these parts of the app and constantly updated them with new content, thanks to the help of food and travel experts. The app is available for both #Android and #iOS devices📱 and offers more than just typical banking services, it’s for anyone interested in exploring new experiences. The app itself, developed by Etnetera Flow, is designed/meant to make life easier for users by allowing them to manage discount cards💳, find bargains💸, pay for parking, and more. It provides easy access to transaction histories, card details, and uses strong security features🔐like Touch ID, Face ID, and PIN, ensuring user data is always protected. Three years ago, ČSOB approached Mapotic to improve the DoKapsy app with new, regularly updated location content for users across the Czech Republic. In response, we added the #TravelTips✈️and #Foodies🍴sections, starting with 200 lesser-known travel spots. Now, Travel Tips offers over 500 places to visit, organized into categories like Nature, Monuments, and Culture, making it easy to find specific destinations. Meanwhile, the Foodies section suggests delicious food spots and constantly updates with new food festivals and events🎉, complete with descriptions, photos📸, and directions. This has transformed the DoKapsy app into a comprehensive guide for family outings, scenic views, and unique dining experiences. As the app's popularity grows, we’re continually working on adding exciting new features💡, such as favorites, navigation to the point of interest, and more. Our partnership with ČSOB focuses on improving maps and location features, aiming to make products better for users. We’re proud that our work together on the DoKapsy app led to a second-place win🥈at the Internet Effectiveness Awards 2023. This shows how well we can create interesting content and bring new features quickly to big companies. For instance, monitoring sea surface temperature (SST) helps researchers understand how it influences the behavior and habits of marine species such as turtles and sharks, which often travel along warm water currents. Similarly, analyzing wind patterns helps in studying bird migrations. Satellite Data Integration 🛰️ Using satellite monitoring and weather data, we create detailed weather maps that are crucial for disaster management, environmental monitoring, and agriculture. These maps provide comprehensive visualizations that support conservation projects in making informed decisions using both current and historical weather data. For example, in the Turtle Tracker project, Windy.com map tiles are used to visualize water currents. 🌊 This allows researchers to observe how these currents influence turtle movements.
