Amplitude is a Cruchten, Luxembourg-based full service and production rental company – lighting, audio, video, staging and rigging – working extensively across cultural events and show, music and corporate / industrial events. They started investing in ROBE Lighting s.r.o. moving lights over a decade ago and the most recent purchases have reflected a steady and ongoing commitment to the brand, with #T1Profile, #LEDBeam350, and #Spikie luminaires joining the fleet, and Amplitude has just confirmed the purchase of 12 x #FORTE luminaires, which will boost to the creative options for lighting their larger shows. “Robe is a leading brand and whether it’s in a theatre or on a festival stage, people are equally happy to use these luminaires,” noted Amplitude owner Jaakes Hoffmann. Aligning a special 7-night cruise with the finale of the world-famous Sanremo Music Festival, Costa Cruises and Carnival Maritime commissioned a massive lighting installation aboard its ‘Costa Toscana’ moored approximately 1 kilometre out of Sanremo’s harbour. This super-sized piece of light art involved 60 x ROBE Lighting s.r.o. #iBOLT luminaires overseen by Roberto Iavarone, entertainment superintendent for the Costa fleet, who co-ordinates all things related to entertainment and technical production aboard the various Costa line’s vessels. “We had initially wanted to do this monumental style of lightshow for the 2024 event,” Roberto explained, “but it was not possible to amass the right equipment in the time available, so we did a show, but this year the goal was to go HUGE!” Wanting to ensure they presented the most awesome onboard lightshow, the iBOLT installation was the brainchild of a collab between lighting designers Amedeo Orfei and Davide Trentacoste of Fix Advanced Entertainment Solution, Roberto, and Costa Cruises’ entertainment technical operations director, Paolo Campanelli. “The results were truly amazing,” commented Roberto. “We certainly achieved our goal of being clearly seen from all along the shoreline, and the lightshow generated LOTS of SoMe chatter, photos and engagement, all of which had a great impact and buzz.” Read our full #RobeNews feature here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gyde7iTB. Mason Felps with 46 Entertainment has created an eye-catching lighting design including 68 x ROBE Lighting s.r.o. #iFORTE and 16 x #iSpiider luminaires supplied by Backstage Productions LLC for the 2025 leg of country music superstar Alan Jackson’s “Last Call: One More for the Road” tour. Billed as a celebration to mark a truly legendary career for his massive fanbase, the first section of the tour started in 2022 and continued well into 2025, the road just kept expanding for a couple of more years such is the popularity and stature of the best-selling multi-award winning and Country Music Hall of Fame legend. Mason likes to keep busy on the road and is also the tour’s production manager / lighting director. He started work for the Alan Jackson camp at the end of 2017, initially as a backline tech, so all his stage and performance delivery technical skills have been able to shine through this period. The 270-degree visual production design fitted expediently into 6 semi trucks with Mason taking care of lighting, video and set, working closely with Wesley Owens from PXLBOX who programmed the disguise server on the video side to produce a coherent and consistent stage aesthetic. Two key producing and receiving performance spaces – Odeon and Spiegel – in the bustling Netherlands regional epicentre of Zwolle chose ROBE Lighting s.r.o. moving lights as a vital element of their transition to LED lighting journey, with the purchase of 6 x #T1Profile, 18 x #PAINTE, 24 x #LEDBeam350 and 24 x #LEDBeam150 FWQ luminaires, all delivered by Benelux distributor, Controllux. Discussions related to the move to LED started in 2022, and Zwolle Theatre’s head of technical Dennis Bouwhuis and head of lighting Jan Willem Jansen explained that as they already had some older Robe moving lights in the inventory, they had already known the brand for a long time and enjoyed its reliability. Jan Willem and his team – including Antonello Taranto and Kathy Veldman – also look after all things technical for two other spaces in the original building, the 219-seat Black Box Theatre and the Studio which can accommodate 72 theatre lovers. The large hall – Spiegel – is located on another site across town. It was built in 2004 and officially opened in 2006 by Queen Beatrix to assist in accommodating larger and more contemporary productions, offering a capacity of 960. Lighting designer and DOP Alexandre (Alê) Augusto created a stunning lighting scheme with ROBE Lighting s.r.o. for the latest series of ‘The Masked Singer’ in Brazil, with his rental company, Spectrun Design e Iluminação, supplying the lighting equipment and production. The 5th season of the popular show was recorded at Banijay Studios in the Guarulhos area of Sao Paulo, and Alê collaborated closely on the design side of this project with another of Brazil’s leading lighting designers, Serginho Antonio. Prominent on Alê’s lighting plot were 20 x #TetraX luminaires which were rigged on a shaped and automated truss which moved in and out to create different architectural looks in the studio. He also used #MMX WashBeam luminaires for key lighting the judges and 6 of Spectrun’s 24 new #PAINTE luminaires as ‘deck candy’ on the floor behind the artists, and often visible in shots. Alê and Serginho worked with set designer Ludmila Machado and director Marcelo Amiky to create Brazil’s own look for the Masked Singer franchise. Alê, Ludmila and Marcelo regularly work as a creative triumvirate, and have designed some of the highest-profile shows on Brazilian television. Johannesburg, South Africa-based rental and production company MGG has made a sizable investment in new ROBE Lighting s.r.o. moving lights, taking delivery of the 76 x fixtures from Southern Africa distributor, DWR Distribution, including the first #iFORTE, #iFORTE LTX, and #SVB1 luminaires on the continent of Africa. The total order comprised 24 x #iFORTE, 48 x #SVB1, and four #iFORTE LTX luminaires which are for use with the four #RoboSpot BaseStations they already own. MGG – which this year celebrates its 25th birthday – started as a small company when owner and managing director Mark Gaylard was still at school and running mobile discos. It has steadily grown and become a highly successful and visible technical supplier in South Africa. “Robust build quality and longevity of the products is a major reason for our continual investment in Robe” commented Mark.
