I’m excited to present at the #Analytics Summit 2024 in Dublin today. I can’t wait to share how #datastorytelling unlocks analytics’ true value by bridging the crucial last mile. In my biased view, it’s one of the most rewarding and compelling aspects of the entire analytics journey. In a Forbes article I published a couple of years ago, I compared the analytics process to a marathon. Just like a race, the final mile is often the toughest—and the most critical. For those who are interested, here's the full article: (https://lnkd.in/gchpKAmj Following this analogy, if you don’t analyze the data for insights, the race stalls. If you don’t communicate those insights effectively, the finish line moves further out of reach. If your organization doesn’t act on the insights, all the hard work done in the earlier stages will be wasted. Focusing only on data collection, preparation, and visualization incurs costs without delivering value. Unless you bridge the last mile and act on the insights, analytics won’t deliver the returns your organization needs. As the image shows, data storytelling fills this critical gap in the process. Data stories turn insights into action, which drives value that justifies every step that came before it.
