Our Corporate Affairs Manager, Tomas Pala, spoke about “Solutions to Sustainable Manufacturing with a Focus on Green Facilities and Chemistry” at the Sustainable Futures Theatre. He highlighted the commitment of Zentiva and the wider generics industry to the environment. We were honoured to welcome representatives from DG HERA (Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority) to Zentiva’s booth at #CPHI2024 in Milan. 🌏 In this European Week dedicated to Sustainability 🌱, #ZentivaFrance sealed its first CSR alliance with EcoTree France, a forestry company addressing the climate emergency with tangible actions to protect nature and restore ecosystems.   🌳🌲To emphasize our partnership with #EcoTreeFrance, Zentiva mobilised its talents around biodiversity protection, a key focus of our 2024-2025 CSR approach. During a guided excursion in their educational forest of Pézarches near Paris, our team learned about the site’s ecological challenges and how Eco Tree France's initiative promotes biodiversity growth and natural resource preservation, helping the forest become resilient to climate change and threats like fungi and/or bark beetles. Through collaborative workshops, our team found its way to sustainable forestry management. They learned how to: ✅ determine the Potential Biodiversity Index (PBI), which scores the potential to host species ✅ identify ecosystem interactions and interdependencies through a biodiversity mini fresco of the French forest and countryside ecosystem 💚 Once again, Zentiva France demonstrates its environmental commitment to a sustainable future! #CSR #Biodiversity #EnvironmentalCommitment #WeAreZentiva

  At Zentiva, we imagine a world without waste. For us, environmental sustainability 🌱 is not only about reviewing our waste concept strategy. It is about actions! We believe in preventing, reducing, and replacing - and thus starting by carefully purchasing, consuming, and bringing our materials back to users within circular economy ♻️. It is thanks to our partnerships with companies like Cyrkl (a Digital Public Waste Management Marketplace) in Prague, where we market materials that would otherwise become a waste on our site. Thanks to this and other partnerships, we achieved Zero waste to landfill from our Prague operations 7️⃣ years ahead of target! 📋 We started off with a detailed circular waste scan. But Cyrkl went the extra mile and identified key opportunities to further reduce waste and improve efficiency, connected us with MATEO PACKING s.r.o. to recycle LDPE foils into products like bags and sacks, and helped us start a pilot project with Obal Centrum to repurpose used barrels, keeping valuable materials in circulation.     But it does not stop there! We also want to know where our sorted waste ends up. Our #HSE colleagues conduct audits at all waste-management companies that process our waste. Our plastic waste, for instance, gets granulated and is made into shipping boxes or plastic pellets. The journey of the brand paper waste (package leaflets and boxes📦), in cooperation with CIUR a.s., is truly amazing – they are used as insulation material in constructions, e.g., for asphalt mixtures. We then literally drive on them on highways 🛣️ across the Czech Republic, they are used in runways 🛫 in Prague, Frankfurt am Main and other European international airports, and even in the Formula 1 Silverstone circuit 🏎️ in the UK. We also managed to find another use for our waste, which serves as alternative fuel for cement plants.    And that’s only part of the magic of #CircularEconomy in practice! ♻️    #WasteManagement #Sustainability #PragueSite
