The message to the client should be equipped with : - Visible Impact in the scope , with metrics ( counts / complexity level etc.) - Increased efforts required , with metrics (hours , new skills, more workforce) - Deadline / budgets extension request corresponding to the above two While the client absorbs the jerk, never put a gun to his head. Start working on the scope at the best possible efficiency .. in most cases the request for resources will be accommodated.
