Africa’s women: A powerful force for change 🌍 A recent study by Roland Berger reveals the incredible potential of African women as catalysts for economic growth, innovation, and social progress across the continent. Despite facing significant barriers such as limited access to education, land ownership, and financial resources, women in Africa are stepping up and driving change in remarkable ways. Did you know that women are responsible for nearly 80% of food production in Africa, yet they only have access to 15% of the land? This paradox highlights both the challenges and the untapped potential of African women. Through entrepreneurship and community-building, they are not only creating jobs for themselves but also uplifting entire communities. The study emphasizes that empowering women is key to achieving sustainable development in Africa. Initiatives that support female entrepreneurs can lead to transformative impacts, enabling women to establish high-tech startups and drive innovation. Join the conversation! Share your thoughts on how we can further empower women in Africa. Let’s advocate for change together! ✊✨ #empowerwomen #africanwomen #femaleentrepreneurship #womenempowerment #womeninbusiness

📣 The ABURY Foundation is looking for a Riad to rent in Marrakesh! 📣 For our upcoming ABURY Hospitality Academy, we are searching for a simple yet charming Riad to rent in the heart of Marrakesh’s old town. This space will help us provide practical experience to the young women in our hospitality program, alongside their theoretical training. Do you know of any hidden gems? Maybe a Riad that has been a little forgotten by its owner and could use a bit of a refresh? We’d love to bring it back to life! If you have any tips or recommendations, please reach out! 📩 Message us or send an email to andrea@abury.org. #marrakesh #riad #riadrental #riadmarrakech #rental

In Morocco, only 23% of working-age women are employed, compared to 66% of men. 🤯 This stark disparity highlights the urgent need to empower women and facilitate their entry into the job market. The tourism sector presents a unique opportunity, especially in hospitality, where roles like cooking and cleaning are viewed as extensions of traditional household duties, making them more culturally acceptable. That's why we're launching the ABURY Hospitality Academy in Marrakesh! 🌟 This 6 to 12-month program will equip women with top-tier training in hospitality management, empowering them to gain economic independence and thrive in their careers. 💪✨Stay tuned for more updates coming soon! #womenempowerment #genderequality #morocco #femalempowerment #marrakesh #economicindependence

Have You Ever Heard of the Moudawana? 🤔 The Moudawana is Morocco’s family code, covering laws on marriage, divorce, polygamy, inheritance, and child custody. Why Is This Relevant? Despite a 2004 reform aimed at improving women's rights, the Moudawana still permits child marriage and discriminates against children born out of wedlock, leaving many widows, divorced, or single mothers economically vulnerable. In 2022, King Mohammed VI announced a new reform to align the law with Morocco’s progressive 2011 constitution, and a commission has been drafting proposals since 2023. ⚖️ What’s Happening Now? The reform is the subject of intense debate, with feminist groups and progressive parties pushing for the abolition of child marriage, an end to polygamy, equal divorce rights, and changes to biased inheritance laws. They also advocate for secular laws, while conservative groups resist these changes, emphasizing the ongoing struggle between tradition and progress. What Lies Ahead? It remains uncertain how King Mohammed VI's proposed reforms will be received by the public—will they be a significant step forward or fall short of expectations? Ultimately, the ongoing debate reflects Morocco's commitment to social advancement, and ABURY is committed to fulfilling our role in that journey! 🙌 #moudwana #morocco #womensrights #genderequality #feminism #legalreform
