We're excited to share that our founder Andrea B. is now a board member of TEDxBerlin. 👏 After passionately organising and hosting TEDxMarrakesh for many years until Covid hit, she's back at it now as board member in Berlin, supporting the incredible energy of inspiring ideas and people from various backgrounds coming together. With TEDX offering a fruitful ground for ideas towards innovation, impact and change, we couldn't be more proud. 🚀 #TEDx #impact #inspiration #ideas

5 years without any TEDX in my life were absolutely too many. Since 2011, I organized and hosted TEDxMarrakesh - it was a big part of my life. And then with Covid, this time found an end. So I am really excited and honored to be on the board of TEDxBerlin now. Thank you Stephan Balzer for your trust and friendship. A TEDx day full of inspiration is often overwhelming, but I never left a TEDx exhausted - but always filled with ideas and positive energy. Meeting so many people from completely different backgrounds is just amazing. This is what I love about this format. TEDxBerlin was one of the first TEDxes in the world and Stephan and his team always guarantee for very high quality speakers and lots of creativity in the room. Can't wait to contribute a little bit and feel the energy again! #tedx #inspiration #empowerment

Today, on International Equal Pay Day, we recognize the global fight for equal pay for equal work. While progress has been made, there's still a long way to go. 👣⚖️ On a global scale, the gender pay gap is about 20%, meaning women earn only 80% of what men make. This gap is even bigger for women of color, those with disabilities, and mothers. In Morocco, which ranks among the lowest 10 countries in the 2024 Global Gender Gap Report, women still earn significantly less than men. The Democratic Association of Moroccan Women (ADFM) reports a staggering wage gap of 30%, with only 64% of women being paid for their work at all compared to 91% of men. Meanwhile, in Germany, women earn 18% less than men, with average hourly wages of €20.84 for women and €25.30 for men. Equal pay is a right, not a privilege. Let’s keep raising our voices, pushing for fairness, and fighting for gender equality worldwide! Who’s with us?! ✊❤️ #InternationalEqualPayDay #EqualPay #GenderEquality #PayGap #WomenEmpowerment

Following the success of our Teenage Girls Clubs, the boys from Douar Anzal, Morocco, were so inspired they requested their own program. Since the beginning of this year the ABURY Teenage Boys Club is up and running! 🚀 Each week, the boys come together to explore important topics such as gender equality and women’s rights. They also develop essential life skills like teamwork, personal growth, and other soft skills, alongside English classes. 💪📚 Our goal is to create a supportive community where everyone uplifts and motivates one another. We’re thrilled to see the positive energy and enthusiasm these young people are bringing to their futures. 🌟🙌 #EmpowerTheFuture #YouthDevelopment #CommunityBuilding #PositiveChange #SupportOurYouth #ABURYFoundation

In Iraq, a proposed law that would legalize the marriage of girls as young as nine has ignited widespread protests. 🇮🇶🚨 The legal marriage age in Iraq is currently 18, but a UNICEF study found that 28% of Iraqi girls are married before adulthood. This bill, backed by the Coordination Framework—a political coalition that has enacted several restrictive laws since 2021—threatens to roll back women's rights. They passed multiple laws restricting the rights of women, girls, and LGBTQ+ people. This includes criminalizing LGBTQ+ identities and advancing a proposal to give religious authorities control over marriage, divorce, and childcare. 🗣️ "If this new law is enacted, all our rights will be revoked," says 22-year-old Malak from Al Diwaniyah. The bill is still under discussion, but its potential impact is deeply concerning for the future of women’s rights in Iraq. Legalizing child marriage would deepen patriarchal control and escalate human rights abuses against Iraqi women and girls. What Can You Do? 👉 Help raise awareness—like, share, and comment on this post. 👉 Reach out to international media and your legislators to condemn the actions of the Iraqi government. No matter where they live, every woman and girl should have the right to live free from oppression and discrimination. We must stand together to advocate for their rights and ensure they are treated with dignity and respect! #StandWithIraqiWomen #StopChildMarriage #WomensRights #HumanRights #ProtectOurGirls #IraqProtests #EqualityForAll
