According to a report from SITA, 90% of passengers travel with a smartphone. So why not leverage this near-universal device to deliver live, personalized notifications directly to passengers? While many airports use email or SMS notifications as a solution, these can easily get lost in the clutter of other messages. Mobile apps offer push notifications, but airports are increasingly moving away from dedicated apps due to low adoption rates among passengers. The solution is live in the airport’s baggage handling system (BHS) which is provided by BEUMER Group. The tests exceeded expectations, with an average processing time of less than one minute - talk about speed ⏩ This accomplishment represents a huge win for both Airsiders and DUS, showcasing our innovative spirit and commitment to excellence in operations and customer experience. The energy surrounding this success is electric, with this milestone reinforcing DUS's position as a prominent airport in a vast catchment area and as a central hub for travellers 👜 To share the buzz, our Co-Founder Yavuz Karadag and Ingo Krahforst, Assistant Baggage Handling Manager at DUS, made a video of the first bag going through the system.
