This October, we honor the rich #history, remarkable achievements, and invaluable contributions of the Black community in the UK. #Black History Month is a time to reflect, learn, and celebrate the stories and legacies that have shaped our society. With this year’s theme “Reclaiming Narratives”, the Allianz #GRACE Network (Global Race and Cultural Ethnicity Network), shines a spotlight on the stories and experiences of our prominent Black #leaders within Allianz. This afternoon, I had the pleasure, alongside my co-sponsor Gretchen Cepek and our special guest and moderator Claire-Marie Coste-Lepoutre, to host another inspiring edition of the GRACE panel discussion. This panel discussion reminded us that Black History Month is not just about remembrance; it’s about understanding, celebrating #diversity, and committing to creating an inclusive future. Our esteemed panelists offered unique #perspectives on how to reclaim and celebrate the narratives of Black people globally. They shared their personal and professional experiences, discussed challenges, emphasized the importance of sponsorships and mentorships, and provided best practices for upward mobility. It was a fantastic opportunity to delve into the importance of representation in leadership and celebrate diverse narratives. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Hélène Baetzner, Dwayne Maddox MBA, IICDP, MSLOC, Dr. Funké A., Thusang Mahlangu, and Thamsanqa Ndebele for being on the panel and sharing their stories and experiences with such openness. It was indeed a learning opportunity for all of us, and I am grateful for the chance to learn from your insights. 🌍In a world of opportunities, developing entrepreneurial skills stand as a powerful catalyst for change. Allianz Technology India, in collaboration with IDEA Foundation recently launched Project Unnati - an initiative to provide upskilling, entrepreneurial training (EDP), and support to help enable micro business activities for women for a better livelihood. Following a successful pilot project during the 20 years celebration of Allianz in India in 2023, the aim now is to train 100 more women in various skills including financial, digital, and business skills. We believe that empowering women with the right tools and knowledge can unlock their potential to pave the way for sustainable livelihoods. 🤝 We are doing our share – today and every day! Allianz Technology and Allianz Services have joined forces again this year both in-person and online and put their hands up for #WorldCleanupDay!   🗑️ Together with other entities in Allianz Group, colleagues from various locations have been already participating these days in several in person activities to clean areas close to their office premises. These initiatives will continue in the next weeks, with 14 locations participating all around the globe.   ⚙️ Additionally, because technology is such an important part of our work but also a major contributor to our carbon footprint, we kicked off an internal digital cleanup campaign. All our colleagues are encouraged to intensify their efforts of keeping a clean digital workspace by deleting unnecessary assets and adopting more tricks to avoid digital waste.   For example, did you know that Outlook has a feature which empties the recycle bin each time you close the app? And it only takes a few clicks to activate it. 🚮   🌍How are you taking care of your environment?
