International Women’s Day 2025 💜🌍   The International Women’s Day is an annual reminder to continue and accelerate our efforts toward gender diversity, equity, and inclusion.    Yesterday, we had the privilege of hearing inspiring and deeply personal stories that moved and motivated us.  "Change begins with small steps. Everyone’s energy matters—we are all part of the journey." With these words, Amédée Murisier opened our internal event, perfectly aligning with our theme: "Together for an inclusive environment."    Our panel featured four incredible women from within our organization: Solange Cardon, Paula del Castillo Cabanas, Lemonia Skouta and Dilvin Ö. By sharing their personal journeys, the challenges they’ve faced, and the paths that led them to where they are today, they provided us with an authentic and powerful perspective on the topic.💡✨   Dilvin Ö. captured it beautifully: “Success comes when we break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create spaces where diversity and inclusion empower everyone—especially women. 🎯 2024 operating result: last year, Alpiq achieved a very good result for the third consecutive year. 💪 Despite a market environment characterised by another decline in prices, Alpiq recorded adjusted EBITDA of CHF 962.4 million. 🌍 The very good result underlines our strong operating performance and shows that our strategic focus on flexible systems in Switzerland and the European markets is paying off even in a less volatile market environment. 🌱 Alpiq has also issued its 2024 Sustainability Report as per the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) for the first time and included it directly in the Annual Report. 👇 All further information about our operating result can be found in our 2024 Annual Report – the link is in the first comment below.

💥Plus de 90 personnes de la Suisse #romande ont répondu à notre invitation et à celle de swisscleantech à l'événement de mardi au 📽️ Ciné Pathé à Lausanne. Ils ont suivi avec intérêt et engagement les explications sur « le rôle de l'électrification dans la décarbonation ».    💬 Notre CEO, Antje Kanngiesser a parlé de la « sécurité d’approvisionnement – des faits plutôt que des mythes » :   ▶️ Il faut augmenter la production et les capacités de stockage ▶️ Le soleil provoque le changement de système ▶️ Le nucléaire reste essentielle. De nouvelles technologies pourraient compléter les énergies renouvelables. ▶️ Un accord sur l’électricité renforce la sécurité d’approvisionnement en Suisse. ▶️ La sécurité d’approvisionnement n’est pas chère. Elle est précieuse !   💬 Le directeur de l'OFEN Bundesamt für Energie BFE, Benoît Revaz a souligné les défis liés à l'extension et à la transformation des réseaux et du stockage, à la mise en œuvre de la stratégie pour l'hydrogène et à l'accord sur l'électricité avec l’UE.   Les participants de la table ronde finale Antje Kanngiesser (CEO Alpiq), Jean-Pierre Bangerter (Managing Director Saint-Gobain ISOVER AG Schweiz), Stéphane Rosset (Head of Sales MOVE Mobility) et Roberto Turconi (Senior Sustainability Consultant Quantis) étaient d’accord sur le fait que le facteur humain est crucial pour réussir la transition énergétique. 🔋 E-world energy & water 2025: Enabling the energy transition with BESS ⚡ One of our key focus areas at E-world this year is Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) - helping to integrate more renewable energy into the electricity system. A crucial step toward a more sustainable energy future. We are building our first BESS project in Valkeakoski, Finland. This 30 MW system, set to be operational in the second half of 2025, will enhance grid stability and support the integration of more renewable energy sources like wind and solar. A second, larger BESS (100 MW) is planned for Northern France, with commissioning set for 2026. These projects are part of Alpiq's ongoing BESS aspirations, with further expansion expected over the course of the next two years.
