𝗗𝗮𝘀 𝗙𝗼̈𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗸𝘁 »𝗕𝗶𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅-𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲« 𝗴𝗲𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗶ß𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 Im Konsortium unter der Leitung des Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE arbeitet Ambibox GmbH gemeinsam mit weiteren Partnern aus Industrie, Forschung und Anwendern an der Fragestellung des bidirektionalen Ladens an Industriestandorten und Bürogebäuden. Die Rückspeisung ist die nächste Evolutionsstufe bei der Netzintegration von Elektrofahrzeugen. EVs können nicht nur intelligent geladen werden – flexibel angepasst an die aktuelle Stromerzeugung oder den Verbrauch – sie können die in der Fahrzeugbatterie gespeicherte Energie auch zurück speisen. Gute Gründe dafür gibt es für alle Beteiligten: für die Unternehmensstandorte, für die Flotten- und Fahrzeugbetreiber und auch für die Stromnetzbetreiber. Mit dem gemeinsamen Projekttreffen vom 25. bis 26.02.2025 in München bei der Thüga Aktiengesellschaft, nähert sich das Projekt seiner Halbzeit. Es fand eine reger Austausch über die aktuelle Situation für bidirektionale #Ladeinfrastruktur im Bereich Standardisierung, Gesetzeslage und regulatorische Rahmenbedingungen statt. Denn auf genau diese Fragestellungen trifft nun die „Praxis“ der Umsetzung bei unseren Standortpartnern im Projekt. Die nächste Phase im Projekt steht im Fokus der Implementierung der Betriebsmodelle und der Infrastruktur vor Ort. iD.BUZZ integration into Ambibox GmbH HEMS Just do it 🏃♂️ is now our motto. Photovoltaics (SolarPower), batteries, electric cars and heat pumps are becoming commonplace and are simply part of homes all over the world. We at ambibox now want to show that these technologies can also be integrated into a renovated old building in an urban location. This is certainly not easy and we will have to make many compromises. We haven't set ourselves any minimum targets such as net-zero or anything like that, we're more interested in connecting the technologies with each other across sectors.  As we have developed both the HEMS (Home Energy Management System) and the hardware ourselves with partners, we see the opportunity to test different energy management optimizations. The first exercise is to integrate all components properly, PV and battery already exist, the next step will be to make the iD.BUZZ part of the house, then the heat pump. The winter months will be exciting, with a lot of PV surplus the optimization algorithm does not have much to do in summer, in the transition period and in winter it looks different. We are preparing for next year for the flexible electricity tariffs, including possible tax relief for using the vehicle as a battery on wheels. V2G & V2H test with Polestar 3 & 4 at Ambibox GmbH Many thanks to all those involved in the project for making the two new Polestar vehicles 3 and 4 available to us and for the time invested. With both vehicles we have checked the general capability of the platform to provide V2G grid services, this is done by testing if the vehicles can switch quickly between charging and discharging. This feature is required, for example, for the prequalification of BiDi EV's for energy service providers. We have also successfully tested the suitability as a V2H unit, the car could be discharged from -10.3 to - 0.3kW, i.e. 300 watts, without any issues.. Thanks to Polestar Germany for the lending of the still very rare vehicles. Special thanks also to Raymon Deblitz and Dr. Diana Warnecke (Kisro-Warnecke) who are not only a Polestar fanboy and fangirl, but also have a very profound understanding of the automotive and energy market. V2H with the TESLA Model Y The rumor that Tesla could charge and discharge bidirectionally has been circulating for a long time. However, many assumptions about how cleverly Tesla has solved it were probably more interpretations, than reality. It's quite simple: 👉 with standard hardware, our ambiCHARGE BiDi wallbox 👉 with a standard charging protocol ISO 15118-2 👉 with our own HEMS In the video presented, we only show the V2H use case together with a stationary battery that works like Tesla's Powerwall. In this case, we charge the car from the battery and then discharge the vehicle directly back into the battery.  This use case extends the stationary battery with the additional capacity of the vehicle battery. A use case that is frequently requested in the USA as a backup power supply. Together with the vehicle battery, it can also be used to bridge several days without power. In Europe, there is less demand for this application; here, the batteries of the vehicle or the stationary storage unit are more likely to be charged from the photovoltaic system or when electricity from the grid is cheap. The electricity is fed back into the house or sold e.g. in the day-ahead market. 👋 As a preventative measure, however, we would like to point out that the video does not represent a series application of ambibox products, we simply wanted to test whether a TESLA car is BiDi capable. And it is. Our partners from InterControl Ltd tested a three year old Model 3, our car was a 2024 Model Y.
