APROPOS X Political Party Peer Network 🎯
We were thrilled to join Apolitical Foundation's Political Party Peer Network gathering this year to discuss a critical theme: Why political parties still matter in the 21st century.
Our long-standing experience working with elected politicians through the Open European Dialogue informs a very strong commitment on our part to want to contribute to improving the spaces and processes inhabited by politicians nowadays.
This unique gathering provided an enriching opportunity to share thoughts, concerns and ideas with democracy practitioners from across the globe, about how we can better support and promote positive change within political parties.
Today, our APROPOS Associate and R&D Lead Rebecca Farulli, was invited to moderate a session on "Visionaries, Dreamers or Apparatus: How Can Youth Lead Political Transformation?" with the inspired testimonials of:
> Michel Nentwig, International Federation Of Liberal Youth;
> Eva Brandemann, Jong Sociaal Contract &
> David Kabwa, RISE Mzansi South Africa.
The session explored the critical role of youth as catalysts for change in political parties.
❓ How can young party members extend their influence beyond their traditional roles to drive political evolution?
❓What are the challenges of youth engagement in parties?
❓What is the transformative potential of youth in parties?
💬 Chime in and let us know what your thoughts are about how to support, strengthen and renew political parties for a stronger, more resilient and agile democracy!
🙏 Thank you to the organizers Hussam Al Erhayel and Lisa Witter for this engagement opportunity and for the insightful thoughts shared by the other network members and guest experts over the two days - including Greg Power OBE, Jeff Kwasi Klein, Samuel Brielmaier & Winfried Kneip.
