𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝗜𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 #𝗔𝗗𝗔𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 #𝗖𝗔𝗩 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸🛣️ IDIADA has completed construction of the enlargement of the ADAS / CAV Urban Area track at our #ProvingGround near Barcelona in l'Albornar, Spain. We have added a 3/4 lane, 541 m straight to the urban ring and also additional Vulnerable Road Users crossing areas to the main avenue section. These new sections are part of our continuous development of facilities for testing and validation of autonomous and connected vehicles at IDIADA and is operational since the start of July. These new facilities complement our existing proving ground capabilities, reproducing urban, interurban and highway environments and also our Connected Vehicle Hub, hosting 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G private cellular networks. Efficient collaboration between the test facility and Proving Ground team has ensured uninterrupted service of the urban track. This seamless execution allowed IDIADA to upgrade the facilities without any inconvenience to users, showcasing our commitment to excellence and client satisfaction As a multi-user facility, safety and confidentiality are of the highest priority. All reasonable steps are taken to create an ideal working environment, which complies with the most stringent industrial standards in terms of the safety and quality of our facilities. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 🔑 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲-𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆: We combine proving ground tests, focus groups, and upcoming driving simulator studies. 🔑 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝟮 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱: Younger drivers are more accepting of ADAS, while older drivers remain cautious. 🔑 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵: It combines subjective measures like mental workload and trust with objective data such as Time to Collision. 🔑 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: We're expanding research to China and the US for cross-cultural comparisons, aiming to develop a universal assessment methodology for driver engagement. W𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴? Our research is paving the way for safer, more intuitive Assisted Driving systems that align with human tendencies. As we move towards higher levels of automation, understanding driver engagement becomes crucial for both safety and regulatory compliance.
