𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗖𝗣 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 AQ Compute had the honor of attending #OCPSummit24 on October 15-17 in San Jose, California. Our Director of Sustainability and Innovation, Jaime Comella Gómez-Aller, shared his top 5 key takeaways from this dynamic event with us: 💡 AI as a catalyst for change: #AI continues to drive innovation in our industry, demanding a scalable, efficient infrastructure that can handle increasingly complex workloads. This rapid development underscores the importance of optimized data center performance to meet growing demand. 💧 Liquid cooling goes mainstream: Once a niche technology, liquid cooling has now become indispensable. This development is primarily driven by AI and HPC applications, raising the power density in data centers to a level where air cooling reaches its limits. This shift enhances efficiency and reduces energy consumption, advancing both operational and environmental goals. ♻️ Rising momentum for heat reuse: Despite the lower cooling requirements of chips, the reuse of heat is becoming increasingly important and gaining traction. 🌍 OCP as a hub for global collaboration: The OCP Summit remains a premier platform for industry leaders to exchange breakthroughs, fostering open, sustainable solutions that benefit the entire data center ecosystem. 🤝 We look forward to continuing to work with the Open Compute Project Foundation to make meaningful progress! 🚀 #AQCompute #OCPSummit2024 #SustainableDataCenters #AIReady #DecarbonizingYourData

𝐂𝐏𝐔 𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐏𝐔: 𝐖𝐡𝐨’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬? 🚀 In the data center world, CPUs and GPUs play different but equally important roles. CPUs (central processing units) are the jacks-of-all-trades, doing everything from managing databases to running critical applications. GPUs (graphics processing units), on the other hand, are the sprinters – built to handle thousands of tasks at once, making them perfect for AI, machine learning, and processing massive data sets. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬? 💡 As the demand for AI, machine learning, and data-intensive workloads grows, GPUs have become critical for high-performance computing. Whilst CPUs remain essential for tasks that require fast, single-threaded processing, both chip types have distinct applications (each with their own set of technical requirements) and can come together to deliver workloads in harmony. 👉 At AQ Compute, we design our data centers to support both CPU-intensive and GPU-intensive applications, enabling our customers to remain at the forefront of technology. Want to dive deeper into this topic? You can find a link to our blog post in the comments. #AQCompute #DecarbonizingYourData #AIready #DataCenter #CPU #GPU #HighPerformanceComputing
