Solder paste printing: maximum efficiency and flexibility in the smallest space 🌟 Solder paste printing is the starting point of every SMT production line and simultaneously one of the most demanding processes. It is responsible for the majority of errors in the line. Optimizing this step is crucial when competing for high-quality orders from demanding customers, such as those in the automotive industry. With its DEK TQ printer platform, #ASMPT demonstrates how powerful technology and compact design can work together to deliver top performance. With an alignment accuracy of ±12.5 micrometers at 2 Cmk and a wet print accuracy of ±17.0 micrometers at 2 Cpk, ASMPT's DEK TQ printer platform is one of the most precise solder paste printers on the market. The manufacturer leaves nothing to chance: the precision of each individual machine is measured externally before delivery and confirmed with a certificate. The DEK TQ L offers electronics manufacturers new degrees of freedom when printing PCBs up to a size of 600 x 510 millimeters. The printable area is 560 x 510 millimeters. Despite the large format, the maximum core cycle time is only 6.5 seconds. The DEK TQ with a smaller print area even achieves 5 seconds. A great deal of optimization work has gone into this excellent benchmark result: all DEK TQ printers work with high-precision linear drives, a new off-belt printing process, innovative clamping systems, advanced print heads with integrated paste height and squeegee pressure control and the unique ASMPT NuMotion control system with fibre optic cabling. The three-stage transport system also ensures higher throughput: it transports three PCBs (up to 250 millimetres long for the DEK TQ and up to 300 millimetres for the DEK TQ L) in one pass. While the PCB in the middle segment is being printed, a new PCB is fed in at the same time and the previously printed PCB is unloaded. The machine automatically uses single-stage transport for longer PCBs up to a maximum length of 400 or 600 millimetres. The universal and flexible DEK All Purpose Clamping (APC) system automatically adapts to the shape and thickness of the PCB using software-controlled linear drives. ASMPT accommodates so much performance on a minimal footprint of 1.3 m² for the DEK TQ and 1.95 m² for the DEK TQ L. Two DEK TQ printers can also be placed back-to-back on the line.
