Last week, Rachel Lewandowska and I represented AVANTGARDE London as we headed for the Mondial de l'auto Paris 2024 press day on Monday morning. Invited by the very accommodating Chinese EV brand GAC Group, we had the opportunity to say hello to some of our global clients and to check out the latest design and innovation on display. The Paris Motor Show comes around on a 2-year cycle, the last in 2022 was still limping out of the pandemic. A distant memory from the excitement and anticipation that moved across the four exhibition halls. The global press swarmed from booth-to-booth hearing from each marque as they announced their latest models hitting the market. The Chinese EV brands were in full force, BYD, XPENG, our friends at GAC, AITO, and the list goes on. One of the showstoppers was Renault and their wider group in Alpine and Dacia. Booths that commanded your attention; a celebration of their heritage. With the much anticipated, #R5 and #R4 sat in splendour as none other than the French premier Macron glided through the huge press entourage. From a design perspective, it was the clean architectural lines and asymmetrical forms that emerged from Renault, Dacia and AUDI AG that cut through. Kia Europe’s use of overlapping LED with generative AI-styled endless art forms impressed, Cadillac’s Nike ateliers table brought some refreshing lifestyle culture to the halls and Citroën's fully pimped YouTube studio was a refreshing take on what has always been a traditional media outing. We left feeling that the automotive industry is in a somewhat buoyant & resurgent moment. There were some notable brands not in the mix, but you feel the continued momentum of EV storytelling is injecting an energy we haven't seen post Pandemic. Sunroom: A premium experience where fans were immersed in a sun-kissed paradise. In the Sunroom fans could relax and unwind in the warm and inviting atmosphere as they watched the game. Guests immersed themselves in the blissful ambiance of an everlasting summer. Spring Hotel: Paying homage to a Spring break hotel, the atmosphere was electric. World-class cabaret entertainment, arcade games, and a dance floor allowed fans to let go of their inhibitions and party the night away like it was 1999. From the moment fans stepped through the doors, they were transported to a world of playful indulgence, games, and entertainment. Beach Club: We created the perfect environment for fans to kick back, relax, and relish a picture-perfect day at the beach. In some regions, our beach had a pool where fans could bask in the warmth of the sun, sip a cold beer, and party in the cool waters while dancing their heart out to the beat of the best local DJ talent. AVANTGARDE is thrilled to announce the exclusive collaboration between Polestar, Munich's pop-up gallery BAODT Art, and renowned artist Christian Muscheid 'universalpainting'. Since October 2nd, Muscheid has transformed the Polestar Space #Munich into a vibrant studio. The artwork created live as part of this collaboration is complete and can be viewed on-site. This exhibition, which uniquely combines art and design, merging Muscheid's impressive works with the all-electric aesthetics of Polestar models, can be experienced until November 9th. AVANTGARDE overseeing this project, we look back on last Thursday's vernissage where Muscheid first presented his works created specifically for this collaboration. The event attended by the founders of BAODT Art Gallery offered an inspiring blend of art and modern automotive design.
