    Care Beyond Skin Day: Empowering Inclusion at UPT Rehabilitasi Bina Netra, Malang 🤩 On September 30, 2024, our Beiersdorf Production Centre Malang team joined hands with over 150 inspiring individuals from Bina Netra (a rehabilitation center for people with visual disabilities) and the hearing-impaired community for a day filled with meaningful activities. The day was divided into three types of sessions: 1. Social Service: We refurbished and painted the kansteen (sidewalk barriers). 2. Learning Exchanges: We shared knowledge on first aid and learned sign language. 3. Fun Activities: We enjoyed a fun rujak-making session, games, and ice-breakers. Additionally, we explored their impressive handmade crafts—beautiful reminders of resilience and creativity. Beiersdorf also extended a gesture of appreciation by providing folding canes for the visually impaired, NIVEA lotion, bath towels, and other bathing essentials. The event was attended by representatives from the Labor Ministry Department of Kabupaten Malang and Social Services Kabupaten Malang. At Beiersdorf, we believe that care goes beyond products.     In the Philippines, around 2.99 million families continue to live in poverty. A large percentage of these families live on the streets and face the struggles of survival, hunger, exposure to violence and for most of the children, lack of education.   According to UNICEF, around 250,000 to 1,000,000 children in the Philippines are homeless. Vulnerable to child labor, drug abuse, natural disasters, and isolation, these children live with so much risks and uncertainties. Education, healthcare, housing, and livelihood are still as elusive to them as their next meal.    This is why for our Care Beyond Skin Day, we at Beiersdorf Philippines partnered with ChildHope Philippines Inc, an NGO that promotes the welfare and protection of children’s rights, particularly those vulnerable in the streets. On 27th September, our CBS Day was filled with activities that inspired all of us to get to know the children more. Even for such a small amount of time, we got to be a part of their lives and their aspirations. They shared dreams of becoming engineers, doctors, teachers, and flight attendants. Each child expressed their dream as pieces of art encouraged and coached by the BDF employees. The best artworks were celebrated, and the winners shared their artworks in front of a warm, cheering crowd.   We wrapped the day playing Tumbang Preso, a popular street game in the Philippines, and by sharing a warm meal of Jollibee.    At the end of the day, all children received new backpacks and school supplies for the incoming school year with ChildHope. In addition, a voluntary donation by the employees was also turned over to sponsor the education of three children for one school year. As each child's laughter weaved into the next, we found ourselves embraced by a big tapestry of their warmth and positivity. It was truly a humbling experience for all of us.
