👩🏼🎓 In October, our Latvian team had the incredible opportunity to be part of Latvia’s annual "Career Week," inspiring the next generation and giving students practical insights into the world of pharmacy. Our mission goes beyond providing healthcare. We’re committed to sharing knowledge and sparking interest in the field among young minds. This year, our team visited five different schools across Latvia, meeting 250 enthusiastic students. Our dedicated pharmacists -> Kristīne Okuņeva, Veronika Baltace, Beāte Birziņa, and Annija Dvēselīte, shared their personal journeys, the challenges and rewards of working in a dynamic environment, and what it takes to thrive in our field. 💡 These interactions are key to helping students understand the career paths available to them and encouraging them to explore their interests. Last Friday, our BENU Estonia recruitment partner, Alla Zabellevitš, participated in the annual freshman initiation event for pharmacy students at Tartu University. 👉🏼 This long-standing tradition, known as "Rebaseristimine," welcomes 1st-year students into the community, as they are “initiated” by the 4th-year students. The event fosters strong connections between students across all years, as well as with faculty members. As a proud sponsor, BENU was there to present internship opportunities and support the students. 💚 Throughout the evening, participants enjoyed LIVSANE vitamin drinks and had the chance to win BENU gift packages in a raffle. The evening ended with students preparing the traditional "Krambambuli" drink, enjoying a bonfire, songs, and warm drinks alongside their professors. We believe our role as a pharmacy goes beyond providing medicine—we also have a responsibility to educate and raise awareness about serious health conditions. This October, during 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, we will organise 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 in Kaunas and Vilnius to discuss the importance of early detection and preventive health care.🩷 👉🏼 Breast cancer affects 1 in 10 women, and in many cases, it presents no symptoms until it is found through routine screenings. Early detection is critical, as it can significantly improve the chances of recovery. We aim to empower women with the knowledge and tools they need to protect their health. On October 1st, we opened a brand-new BENU pharmacy in Estonia. 🎉 The sunny morning brought in the first customers right away, eager to visit the new pharmacy. We hope this will become a convenient community spot for locals, with the pharmacy providing easy access to health and wellness products. The new pharmacy is located in the recently completed Järveküla Rimi, in Rae Parish. 🚘 Two weeks ago, in honour of Pharmacist Day, our Lithuanian team hit the road to personally thank the dedicated professionals in all 85 BENU pharmacies across Lithuania. We are committed to supporting our pharmacists with ongoing professional development. In collaboration with the Estonian Pharmaceutical Society, we organize annual training sessions designed to refresh and enhance the knowledge our pharmacists need for their everyday work. This September, BENU Academy, a tradition held four times a year, took place in Estonia on the 25th in Tallinn's Swissôtel and the 26th in Tartu's Soho restaurant. 🎉 👉🏼 The theme of this session was elderly care, with lectures from distinguished experts such as Dr. Kolk, a geriatrician at Tartu University Clinic, Dr. Linnamägi, a neurologist focusing on neurodegenerative diseases, and Kristiine Roostar, a pharmacy lecturer at the University of Tartu. With over 100 pharmacists in attendance, these sessions offer valuable learning and networking opportunities.
