A glimpse of today’s competition, organised by BEST Erlangen e.V. and Siemens Tharun Yohananth Chandra Muhil Kumar Raghul Rangarajan we learned a lot while working together on this project.

Over the last three days, Siemens collaborated with BEST Erlangen e.V. to host the #SBEC, a dynamic engineering competition at the Maker Space in the Siemens Technology Center, Erlangen. The competition brought together 40 talented students from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. The teams were challenged to create an innovative #SolidEdge tutorial to excite students and educators about CAD, 3D printing, engineering, and STEM. Watching the teams develop creative ideas and morph them into prototypes in a mere 72 hours was inspirational! Yesterday, we took a tour of Siemens's Additive Manufacturing Experience Center (AMEC) in Erlangen, which showcases cutting-edge AM techniques and real-life industrial use cases. Learned a lot about the end-to-end services they provide and got to interact with the people working on it as well. AM sure can transform the way we manufacture in the neat future. Thanks to BEST Erlangen e.V. for organising the trip!

Dear LinkedIn community, I am thrilled to share that last week, on 15th March, our team 3H1B (Maitreya Limkar, Arjun L S, Salman S., & Sarthak Shinde) won 3rd place 🥉 at the Siemens x BEST Erlangen e.V. Engineering Competition #SBEC, a dynamic engineering competition at the Maker Space in the Siemens Technology Center, Erlangen. In this event, 40 students from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg converged to participate in the SolidEdge Tutorial Competition. The mission was to craft an innovative tutorial that would ignite curiosity among students and educators alike, spanning the realms of CAD, 3D printing, engineering, and STEM. Over a whirlwind of 72 hours, all teams tried to transform abstract ideas into tangible prototypes. We as a team created a Modular Hexagonal Desk Organizer which we were also able to build using methods like Laser Cutting and Additive 3D printing thanks to Georgi Dimitrov. I have added the photo of our creation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed panelists, Susann Kunz, Andrea Boese, Georgi Dimitrov, and Buket Kurtulus as well as the honorable guests, Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger and Mr. Oliver Hartmann, who recognized our merit and bestowed upon us this prestigious position. The 3 days were nothing short of fun. For this, a shout-out to BEST Erlangen e.V. for hosting this remarkable event! Their dedication made it truly unforgettable. Thrilled to share my recent participation in a Designing competition hosted by Best Erlangen in collaboration with Siemens Engineering. Over three intense days, my team and I navigated the challenges of problem-solving, research, brainstorming, conceptualization, and product analysis, ultimately bringing our design to life through 3D printing using SolidEdge software. Although we didn't clinch the top prizes, the journey itself was incredibly rewarding. Congratulations to the deserving winners!
