Keynote Speaker: Annemieke Aartsma-Rus 20th Annual Meeting of the Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society PI & Professor of Translational Genetics Dept. of Human Genetics, Leiden University Medical Center Prof. Dr. Aartsma-Rus played an important role in the development of antisense mediated exon skipping for Duchenne muscular dystrophy during her PhD research (2000-2004) at the LUMC, co-founded the Dutch Center for RNA Therapeutics (DCRT), and is a board member of the N-of-1 collaborative (N1C), a global umbrella organization aiming to facilitate development of antisense oligonucleotide therapies for patients with very rare, eligible mutations. OTS was proud to have Dr. Aartsma-Rus as president of the Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society from 2019-2021. She is currently a co-editor-in-chief for Nucleic Acid Therapeutics, OTS' official journal. Dr. Aartsma-Rus will deliver the keynote presentation at the OTS Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 6th, drawing from her extraordinary insights from decades of groundbreaking research in therapeutic applications. New development agreement for our Haverhill (UK) site: we are enhancing our spray drying expertise in scale up and modelling through an innovative collaboration with MESOX, a pioneer in nanopore carrier drug delivery technology using novel thermodynamic models, and full GMP demonstrator trials. Together, EUROAPI and MESOX aim to provide a scalable drug delivery platform, with sophisticated models aligned to empirical demonstrator trials to minimize time to market. Customers and ultimately patients will benefit from a versatile carrier technology, widely applicable for the delivery of different molecules and therapeutic modalities.                     "This partnership represents a key step forward in innovation for Euroapi, taking well established and proven scale up/down models and applying them to a novel carrier technology. We officially joined! EUROAPI has been admitted as an Associate Member into the American Chemical Society Chemistry Institute’s Pharmaceutical Roundtable (ACS GCI PR). This is a consortium of ca. 50 companies which champions the adoption of green and sustainable practices in active ingredient manufacture, with a focus on APIs destined for human pharmaceuticals. The Pharmaceutical Roundtable enables collaboration between companies from the different parts of the pharmaceutical value chain, including CROs and CMOs. “Membership will allow EUROAPI to discuss challenges related to the development and manufacture of active ingredients with customer-type and peer organisations, and the opportunity to pull resources with other members to develop industry-leading solutions,” said Alan Steven, Principal Scientist at EUROAPI.
