Our R&D engineer evaluated various combinations of wood fibres, couplers, and polypropylene matrix materials as part of his master's thesis. The result is our new product line M·BIOBASE® with wood fibre reinforced polypropylene composites. The wood fibers used come from side streams (waste) of wood processing and using the material is a #recycling respectively upcycling approach. For a sustainable future, the CO2 footprint of compounds filled with wood fibres is at least 25 % lower than that of our unfilled M·BIOBASE® polypropylene. This M·BIOBASE® product group is free from poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The ISCC PLUS certified M·BIOBASE® compounds are #recyclable, partially #biobased and suitable for injection moulded parts with various stiffnesses and viscosities. Due to the wood fibres, it has a natural appearance, and it may not be necessary to dye them. The technology is ready for your applications. 📣 We add glass filled biomass-balanced polypropylene with ISCC PLUS certification to our portfolio. Our new grade is especially developed for #technical #injectionmoulding applications. Biomass-balanced polypropylene is sourced from #renewable plant oils and old second-hand oils. The ISCC PLUS and REDcert² certifications ensure the traceability of the sustainable material flow along the entire value chain. Glass filled polypropylene is used to manufacture a wide range of structural components widely used in technical applications. Also known for its chemical resistance, shatter resistance and overall better durability than unfilled polypropylene. 🌍 Three weeks ago, Silke, Tobias, and Laura from our #PlasticFutures team embarked on an exhilarating journey, visiting five of #FeddersenGroups subsidiaries across the west of Germany. Their itinerary included BIO-FED, AF-COLOR, FEDDEM GmbH & Co. KG, AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH and M.TEC ENGINEERING GmbH. Each day was a deep dive into the heart of #innovation and the future challenges the subsidiaries face. Our team engaged in intensive discussions, exploring external innovation strategies and brainstorming solutions to upcoming obstacles. This trip was not just about business; it was about shaping the future. 🚀 An exciting aspect of the trip was the introduction of promising #startups to each subsidiary. Silke, Tobias, and Laura played a pivotal role in facilitating these interactions, assessing the potential for collaborative endeavors. This initiative is a testament to port F's commitment to fostering innovation and embracing forward-thinking #partnerships. These meetings were not only about exploring business opportunities but also about bridging the gap between established expertise and fresh, innovative ideas. 🍽️ Amidst the busy schedule, there was ample time for relaxation and fun, particularly during the two business dinners. These evenings were not just about fine dining but were pivotal in strengthening existing personal relationships and forging new ones.
