Europe’s $11 Trillion Question: What’s Driving the Gap? 🌍 You see the number: $11 trillion. You might think it’s all about productivity. But the 'Accelerating Europe' report revealed the surprising reality: Only 14% of the gap is due to productivity. The other 86%? It’s driven by structural factors like: Currency Exchange Rates → Since 2008, the Euro has weakened 34% against the US Dollar, distorting GDP comparisons. US Government Debt & Growth Strategy → The US added $24 trillion in debt to spur expansion, while Europe prioritized stability. Europe’s Declining Working-Age Population → Europe’s declining working-age population creates a 0.6% annual GDP gap versus the US.
